Dang it, completely forgot to do that, but Peter could snap a picture when it arrives.

I sent Wartstein a PM alerting him of this thread earlier this afternoon.

Guys, I missed that thread and also missed your pm, Connor, till right now :( (thank you for sending it though, that was really nice! :) )

But: I would not have participated anyway...

Why?: Because "Pancake" has already gifted me a great knife he made! :) :) :)

And he did so really just because I sold ((and not gifted! )him my backup Pac Salt 1 SE when he could not find one anymore (for it is discontinued). A more than kind thing to do by him!

I am preparing a post about the knife he gave to me, but did not get around to take good enough pics.

@Peter: I am sure your "Pancake" knife will be as good as mine, and mine is honestly just great. I absolutely DON´T say this to be nice, it is just the plain truth. Used it a lot already, it has perfect ergos (the handle is formed like a larger and much more handfilling Stretch 1 handle) and the O1 blade is a dream to cut with. Thin, but still strong stock, very tall/wide and thin behind the edge, a great slicing machine. Plus: A perfect low profile Kydex sheath...

I add three quick pics here: The knife, the knife in sheath and compared to an Endura

"Pancake" thank you so much once more, as said, I'll do a dedicated thread about the knife anyway! :)

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

On Thursday this week the postman ringed and I received a well awaited parcel. :p (And believe me, I was nervous like a young kid waiting for a pleasant surprise, as it is uncommon for me that someone gifts me a knife!)

I promised to take some pictures of the sheath and I also did some comparison shots with my trusty FB26PWD Bushcraft knife as reference for :spyder: 's ...

Now the knife alone in all it's beautiness ...

Image

The measurements:

blade thickness - 3 mm
length overall - 222 mm
blade length - 108 mm
sharp edge - 103 mm (convex grind with very thin edge what I love!)
weight - who cares, it will be a user :D (in fact I don't have accurate scales)

Pancake has done a really good job on this knife and I feel proud to own it now! Thanks a lot again Pancake!!!

Maybe you will tell us something about the heat treatment ...

Peter, you are much better with digital camera than me. That Spyderco Bushcraft is magnificent.

I can't comment on heat treatment, I don't have a furnace so I have to send my blanks to one person, but I can say that it is 60-61 HRC, so it could hold an edge ok-ish.
