That's nice too! Probably a little larger than I like though. I have a mini Crooked River that I won on Blade Forums and even that's bigger than I like

I think I need to stop too - as of this morning I've got a Manly Wasp in CPM S90V coming in the mail. :DSharp Guy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:17 pmNice! I've been eyeballin' those too. I need learn to quit buying so many knives without selling any off first. My problem is, I generally like everything I buy. So I have a hard time picking something to get rid of. :)The Meat man wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 3:05 pmGiantmouse Ace Biblio. M390 blade and green canvas Micarta scales. I just got it today but I like it so far.
How's the detent and action on that Ace?
The action is great! After hearing all the negative things about the action and the detent, I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but I needn't have worried.
The detent is strong and secure, and flipping is easy and effortless, yet it's not so strong (as some YouTube reviews would have) that using the thumb hole is difficult. It's as easy to open manually as any Spyderco detent.
The pivot is nice and smooth, wasn't quite 100% out of the box but in the short time since it's smoothed out to perfection. Blade is perfectly centered too. Fit and finish is superb! I'm looking forward to carrying and using it.
FWIW the only other ball bearing flipper I own is the Advocate. I have no ZT experience.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I started out sticking around 3-3.25 inch blade lengths. I was afraid to get anything bigger! Got a Resilience (4.25!!) and then went to 3.5 inch. Gradually crept up and now own a few 3.75-4 inch blades. I'm not worried about carrying them anymore, but I do usually think about where I'll be or what I will be doing any given day, and choose accordingly.
It usually comes around to having a larger blade and then a smaller, like pairing this knife with a PM2 or my 0456cf, or a 562cf with my para 3...
Or like today I went the crooked river and my cold steel ad10... Just because! Oh and my buck 110 lt.... I think I have a problem!

The ZT 0640 is all about soul, but Big Chris made mine a great cutting tool as well by bringing it to a near zero grind.

TOPS Tanimboca Puukko on its first hike today ! Very nice carver and whittler, good ergos despite the blocky handle.
Feels like the curves on the micarta allow it to be placed perfectly for sharpening.
This knife has me leaning towards shorter fixed blades...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
So where are you guys buying these from? I was on TRM's site and I see they mention something about pre-orders but don't see a way to get in line. Also see them listed on BHQ so I used the notify me function to see if I get lucky. Still not sure how bad I really need one of these or if I'll go for the Atom or Neutron. I guess I'll decide when I find one available

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
They only make a couple hundred at a time and sell through preorder. I got in on the last run. They sold out in three minutes.
I know there is a lot of hype around this knife and I try to stay immune to all that.
I really like it. Very thin, very light, great fit and finish, super smooth, great materials, 3.5 inches of 2.5mm stock and a simple utilitarian quality I appreciate.

I think it looks good overall, but those thumb studs look to be pretty massive. Are they larger than typical studs, or am I just seeing it wrong?

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I don’t find them to be too big but if I have one complaint it is that they are a little smooth. I am obviously partial to the Spydie hole so I am not the best judge of thumb studs but I would like to see a little texture on them.
Other than that the only thing I would change is that I prefer tip down. That said, I appreciate the clean look that a one handed and one clip position knife offers.
