Well, your picture didn’t help my wallet any, either. :D

I am impressed with H1 in a way I’ve not been with other steels. I ignored it for years because I did not need a Salt knife. I was hugely mistaken. This is a true super steel.
Hit the nail on the head there! It all started this past June when I picked up a pac salt SE. Love that blade and use it hard every day at work cutting nylon braided plastic vacuum hose, slicing through rigid foam insulation, cutting gasket material, and the list goes on! Naturally after all the hawkbill talk as of late and bloke I had a hankerin' for more h1 outside of work! Picked it up in November and it hasn't left my pocket. I dont plan on that happening either.

Well well well, do my eyes see rust? :D

Haha! Weird. It does kinda look that way lol. Looking at it now and it appears as though its just a grinding discrepancy from our friends at seki reflecting light a little oddly. It'll sharpen out in time! :D

Yeah, it is transfer from other steel.

Probably is just material on top the h1 that he hasn't wiped off yet.

Sooooo let me clear this up a bit lol. There is no actual discoloration on the edge. It is simply light reflecting off of a grinding mishap from seki. The house was behind me, so that's probably where that color came from.

Just got my first Ladybug in the mail this afternoon! My initial impressions are mixed.. it seems very well-made, very sharp, and I can see it being entirely useful for small tasks or on a keychain.. but d*mn, it seems almost comically small in my hand.. I'm thinking that I maybe should have opted for the Manbug to fill out the grip a little better.. I will try attaching a fob/lanyard and hopefully that will help me get a better purchase on it.. Pretty cool little knife regardless!

For me a lanyard is essential on a Ladybug, it completely transforms the knife.
I put a small lanyard on mine last night and it definitely helps a lot! I want to get some nice paracord and try for something a little fancier, but I tend to have the arts and crafts abilities of a 5 year old, so we'll see how that goes..

Hahah, solid plan Barry..

I was messing around with tying one earlier and was able to make a really cool looking lanyard that was kind of like tying a noose.. looked great, except I couldn't figure out how to tie off the end in a way that wouldn't fall apart.. so I pulled it all apart, tied a little figure 8 (?) knot and called it a day. Gets the job done..

Haha, I guess I'll have to watch some more youtube videos to figure out how to tie a proper lanyard.. some day I'll figure it out..

I'm usually pretty good at this kinda thing but after an hour of YouTube and getting worse and worse results, my wife asked, "want me to do that for you?" I handed it over and 2 mins later she handed it back finished. :o

Pretty late to the party, but a week or two before this thread started I began looking for a Jester.

Happy to say a g10 sprint from 2012 is now inbound!

Next will probably be the hawkbill Ladybug. Have seen a few pics, etc, here lately that reminded me I've put that one off for too long.

Here’s a simple pic to help with the noose knot. The right loop goes into the lanyard hole first. I tighten, snip the ends short, then melt so it doesn’t come apart. P.S. Photobucket once again sucks.

The fob is essential to me on these wee ones...

I had a monkey fist fob on my Manbug LW but it bugged me so I cut it off. That noose knit looks much more practical.

Love my minis, and as already said if you're using one without a fob it makes all the difference to add one. Lil native is a cheat but for general needs these guys handle pretty much everything, and I'll shout out to the square head for best "bang for the buck". Got that thing when discontinued and am still surprised how rarely I actually need to grab something else.

Very nice. Is that serrated or plain edge? I really like that color FRN.
