Made on Earth? Not so sure.

A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

Made on Earth? Not so sure.

Recently bought a knife off Amazon. I heard there's been problems recently though. The knife I bought looked legit until I saw this bit on the back though. It's got engravings like it should, though I didn't know about the W. The box says C223GPS like it should though, and the UPC is 7 16104 01185 8. (I was told somebody could check UPCs, dunno how or where, couldn't find a link.)

I just want to be sure. That Golden, Colorado U.S.A Earth bit still makes me laugh. It's hard not to if Spyderco obviously doesn't take this seriously.

Not going to <img> since no resize and it's ugly as **** since it's from my crappy small phone.

Can't say for sure without a better picture, but it looks like the real deal.

Spyderco made knives for NASA, which is why Earth is included there. The "w" is Eric Glesser's maker's mark.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
