Smock at DLT

#1

Post by JuPaul »

I remember someone looking for these a few weeks back, but can't find the thread. DLT has them up for pre-order, set to ship Feb 19.

The smock is kind of crying out for a sprint.

Do they run sprints on Taichung knives? I’m not a fan of carbon fiber laminate and S30v is kinda meh, so I'd like to see a smock in different scales and a more interesting steel. Burgundy patterned g10 and vanax SC maybe? Marbled carbon fiber and S90v?

Yeah, they'll do sprints of Taichung knives. The Perrin PPT has had two sprints now, so it isn't too wild of and idea to expect a sprint of the Smock. I honestly think it will get at least one sprint, judging by it's popularity to this point.

Would take a monstrosity of materials and steel for me not to go for a sprint!

The Smock is really crying for an XL version, the design is incredible but it’s diminutive size size hampers it from being more useful, the Choil in the blade needs some work also it is too tiny and sharp to really use.

Pretty sure that choil isn't meant for fingers. It's just there for clearance on the button comp lock. I guess they decided expanding it to make a full finger choil wasn't worth the additional loss of edge.

I agree completely. the current smock has its place, but I sold mine because it just felt a bit scaled down in size from what I would have liked. A bigger version with a longer but similar blade shape, and the same stock thickness would be incredible.

I'd try the Smock if there was a sprint.

Personally, I would choose a Salted Kapara.

I wouldn't say it has stopped me but nothing has really excited me lately to be honest. Only thing I've really been wanting are a couple new PM2's coming out, but I already have so many so I'm not sure why... haha Gonna have to let one or two go that's for sure. I had a smock on preorder for over a year finally got one and the handle just didn't speak to me, I really like being able to get close to the edge with the handle. Got the Kapara instead and that handle is amazing! Smock still looks cool and has a really cool lock though.
