All black Dragonfly Salt...one step closer?

#1

Post by Edge-y »

Hey, folks--regular user of multiple Spydercos here. I love my SE Dfly Salt in particular, but I'd really like a more subdued version for some environments.

Having seen the discussion of the CQI Salt series in the DEC Byte and in the 2020 product guide with the blacked out back lock and hardware, I'm wondering if maybe an all black version is coming down the road. Add the black wire clip from the black Lil Native, and all of the components are already in production except the coated blade.

Would anyone else like to see this happen?

I suppose it would make sense. Those who don’t like yellow may prefer an all black look. I know for sure there are plenty of us looking for more black blades for the Dragonfly 2. Sounds like a winner to me

I would be all in for an all black Dragonfly Salt! Would really like to see an all black Dragonfly Hawkbill Salt.

I've made the request for a production all black Ladybug Hawkbill in the past but maybe an all black Dragonfly Hawkbill would be the better choice? ;)

I only have 8 Dragonflies so getting one in all black would give me a much needed addition.

A black blade Dfly is a missing piece of the Spyderco line up to me. I would buy at least one. I also think TiCN would look good on the Teal version.

That this is the first and only TiCN-coated Dfly astonishes me a bit - not sure why anything smaller than a Delica in the Seki factory is typically not considered for blacked-out treatment, given how awesome it looks!

K390 would be a good candidate for a coating.

I'm not so much in favor of coating the salt version, though. I want my Salts shiny and highly visible.

I would like the option of a black blade on every knife but especially the serrated Salt Dragonfly.

I’ve been holding off on the Dragonfly platform so far, but I would jump on a black blade serrated, regular and hawkbill.

Put me down for a blacked out DF. Everything blacked out with FFG VG 10 blade.
