Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
I like the Lil Native, but I picked the UKPK so more people an participate.

Not a fan of any of these models. Will be passing if one of these end up being picked.

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
Voted UKPK. Seems like the logical choice for a forum knife.
Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
I would go for a UKPK in G10 with a drop point.
Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
Doc, let me (and others, especially people living in places with restrictive knife laws) ask directly what I mentioned in my previous post already:
If knife laws restricted what you can carry legally outside of your home:
Would you like a forum knife necessarely to be a model you CAN actually carry legally -
OR still the model you generally like the most, even if you CAN`T carry it legally?
I ask this, cause
1.) I just don´t have experience with restricting knife laws and really don´t know what I would prefer myself if there were such laws where I live
2.) I just assume that a forum knife would be more of a "collectors piece" for many and get not really carried anyway (though I personally certainly would carry and use it)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
I'm not too excited about the choices either, for different reasons. I own 3 UKPK and am not likely interested in another. I own a lil native and I'm not likely interested in another. I own a Shaman and I'm on the fence if I'd own another or not/or if I'll end out keeping the one I have. Don't own a Chief but seem to back down from purchasing larger folders whenever I'm out looking at them.
So of the bunch ... I'm putting in for the Chief!

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
Voted for the Shamon.
I have no interest in a slip joint.
The Native chief might be OK, but the blade length might be too long for most to carry legally.

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
I voted UKPK - perhaps in g10 (like the HH version), rather than FRN?
I think the forum knife also has to be in a config that won't get released separately in the near future. There are three SPY27 LW versions planned so far - and the only other knife with the frn molds here is the UKPK - so that one may be up for the SPY27 treatment for regular production before the others?

Larry, according reveal 4 catalogue SPY27 have cobalt blue handle color.Larry_Mott wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:08 amVoted UKPK but a coin toss between that and the Li'l Native.
SPY27 would be cool, but i hope Ric is wrong stating "it means cobalt blue"
I wouldn't hate a cobalt blue handle, but micarta in just about any color would top it.

I see, well i hope this is just initially and not a "prerequisite" :)Ric wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 1:57 pmLarry, according reveal 4 catalogue SPY27 have cobalt blue handle color.Larry_Mott wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:08 amVoted UKPK but a coin toss between that and the Li'l Native.

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
If I'm able to get this knife I can't say I would use it, no matter which variant. I'd want it to stay in perfect condition, just like I'd want all of you. :D

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
If, I bought a Forum Knife, I doubt I’d want to use it and scuff it up. So it would sit unused and (eventually) forgotten.
So it would have to be something a little special to make it worth while. Non of the knives on the lists appeal to me so no Forum Knife here. :)

Re: Forum knife 2020 - final model poll
If the blade is SPY27 and the scales are cobalt blue, what makes this forum knife exclusively a forum knife? If Spyderco will be strictly using cobalt blue scales with SPY27 blades, then naturally whatever is chosen here could be a regular model in the future.
I'm just not excited about the option offered here...

Great point. I'm writing in PM2, micarta scales, and LC200NWartstein wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 10:46 amDoc, let me (and others, especially people living in places with restrictive knife laws) ask directly what I mentioned in my previous post already:

Of those 4 I would personally be most interested in the Shaman or Chief but I voted for the UKPK because it has to suck living in places where you can't enjoy knives like this so at least this once it should be something everyone can enjoy.
