My ideal forum knife would be SE so that would ruin it for a lot of folks so I may as well stop there.

Don´t! viewtopic.php?f=2&t=85797#p1393182 :D
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

I'd be excited for a SE forum knife as well. It's iconic spyderco, so makes sense to me.

That makes at least three of us...

But honestly, as said in my above linked post: I think a forum knife would even be an opportunity to offer people to experience SE, who otherwise never would - and I am totally convinced, if the serrations are anything like on the Endela, this would be a positive and maybe surprising experience for most...

Well then...

SE Caribbean sheepsfoot, with scales as thick and contoured as the Shaman, but in bidirectional FRN like the D'Allara 2, in maybe a charcoal gray color. I'd also be ok with rough burgundy micarta scales in the same thickness and contouring.

Well done, I´d love such a knife! :)

Now that we´re talking "serrated" and the Chaparral was mentioned several times already:

What about the first serrated Chaparral for a forum knife (I would not say no to Micarta either... ) ?

Serrations in that slicey 2mm stock blade must be amazing...

A competition chopper :D
10 inch blade of CPM 4V, FFG, 0.4 mm behind the edge, 6 mm spine, tapered tang, micarta scales.

Usefulness? Zero. Cool factor? Over 9000!
In the pocket: Chaparral FRN, Native Chief, Police 4 K390, Pacific Salt SE, Manix 2 G10 REX45

For 2020, I'd like a throwback model in a throwback steel. Walker, Jess Horn, Salsa, Zowada, or Navigator in CPM-154. Micarta preferred in any color.

Military 2 with a comp lock. K390, M390, or something else to knock my socks off. Green Canvas Micarta scales.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Manix 2 with blue denim colored ribbed micarta scales...in any high end steel, as long as it’s stainless.

Next idea: Make the very first batch of the Caly 3.5 LW the 2020 forum knife by giving it a special handle color or whatever ...

Assuming the forum branding is close enough to my taste, would buy either of these. :spyder:

No holds barred, eh? In that case, I’d go with a Golden-made C50 Centofante (PE or SE), in FFG LC200N or CPM 154, stonewashed blade, carbon fiber or canvas Micarta scales with same material backspacer, Liner Lock with safety back-up (like the original), recessed Ti liners, and an updated scale medallion that includes the year “2020” and words “Forum Knife.”

My other choice would be a full SE Salt Cricket in LC200N and FRN. Who wouldn’t love to see the Cricket in FRN again? And as a Salt? :)

Competition chopper? This knife sounds very cool though. But what is the competition, do cooks get together and see who can chop
their way fastest through a bag of onions?

Bolstered Rhino with Cruwear & micarta, or Native 5 in Cruwear with rounded micarta scales similar to the Shaman.
