"No holds barred" could also mean what one really does NOT want, I figured..but again, probably not a positive approach at all... :o

Still, I´d certainly pass on a Para 3 too. As said, it´s cool somehow, mostly for being a "Lil PM2", but integrates features of the PM 2 that do not fit a small knife too well imho and that makes just about any other Spyderco in that sitze category for me a better choice.

...And I´d be a bit disappointed if the Forum knive would be yet ANOTHER Para 3...

Sure a cool little folder, glad for the many who obviously enjoy it, but sometimes I am a bit baffled when I see how it floods the market in I guess as of right now already 30 different versions (3 more in the last reveal alone..) and get´s so many of the variations and sprints.

And I said it before: I think it´s an "controversial" knife: Many really love it (and that´s great! :)) but on the other hand many don´t fully get it.
My mistake, I thought this was a thread for suggestions of what forum knife we’d like to have, not the thread where we make multiple posts crapping all over other people’s forum knife choices.
Man, come on....

- I did not reply or refer to your or any specific post, just gave my opinion in an I'd say polite, reasonend and constructive manner
- I made clear that I totally respect and am happy for all the Para 3 lovers
- I still even did apologize (you even quoted my apology) and do it once more herewith for my maybe to negative post
- And I gave my personal reasons in a respectfull way why I personally think the Para 3 is though cool, still not the best choice for a forum knife in my opinion
- "Crapping all over peoples choices" is a bit of a weird way to see this imho..

After all, this is a discussion forum, right?

would love a fixed blade - dosnt have to be a high end and thus exclude the buying pool - the bow river has proved that!

micarta scales? even a smaller necker or sub 4" blade
Andy
Necker - Ladybug Hawkbill Salt

Wayne Goddard / W.G. Junior re-issue, burgundy micarta scales
Jess Horn / Baby Jess Horn, micarta or desert ironwood scales
Rookie, SS or G10 irrelevant, it deserves another run IMO

I think the logo should be small and unobtrusive like the HH UKPK. Make a stacked logo of 2020, put it on the tang and engrave Spyderco Forum on the spine. It would be almost unnoticeable, but still special.

No need to apologize to little ninnies that get offended over someone disagreeing with them.

Especially when it's a valid argument about there being
TOO MANY PARA 3 VARIANTS.

Does anybody ever actually use a knife with Damascus steel? I've never seen or heard about the steel in use, it looks like fancy artwork. Does it scratch easily? That's a knife I'd likely have as a show piece, as much as I like using them! That Caly 3 is beautiful!

How about a maxamet kiwi 4 with textured titanium scales. Forum 2020 engraved on the TI backspacer. Always wanted to try the kiwi but I'm kind of a newb and missed the boat on that one.

I'd be cool with that as well. Such a cool looking knife, would love to know how it felt in hand. Last I checked, KnivesPlus had a Kiwi available. I think it was around $170 though.

Wow! I've never been to knives plus. So many discontinued spydies! Very cool site and thanks for the tip! I'm not sure I could cough up that much for 3" of vg10, but I've said similar things in the past

My ideal forum knife would be SE so that would ruin it for a lot of folks so I may as well stop there.
All SE all the time since 2017
