Pendant knife
I’ve been meaning to bring this up for a long time. Since it’s a new year and a new decade, here goes.
I’d like a Spyderco Pendant knife. A Bug with LC200N steel, polished linerless ivory or black G10 with a larger lanyard tube for its size. It needs to be good looking but corrosion proof so there is no reason to take it off.
There are other makes out there, but they are not Spydercos and don’t have this steel.
However, they are useful knives to wear on a nice chain.

Re: Pendant knife
I've asked for upgraded versions of the Bug line for years without much support. I would rather have a nicer Grasshopper than a Ladybug or Manbug. I think LC would be a great steel for it too. Sign me up for all three of them.

Ivory g10/LC200N would be awesome!
Needed a pic, something like this?

Re: Pendant knife
I imagine it would be more expensive than you think and I think the price would deter most people. Especially for a knife the size of the Bug.
At $15, I'm ok with the current version. :spyder:

Re: Pendant knife
An actual Bug I may not use all that much so cost would be a bigger factor but I would definitely pay "full size price" for a better version of the Grasshopper for my keys.

Didn't Santa Fe stoneworks do dressed up Bugs?
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Re: Pendant knife
Yes, and they still may. Of course theirs only feature overlays on a regular SS Bug, so not quite what Doc Dan is after either in terms of steel or handle. OTOH, not sure how practical an unlined G10 handle would be on a knife that small.

Re: Pendant knife
That mini Ti Police pendant from back-in-the-day was cool.
It would be awesome if Spyderco would bring out a few miniatures made of the same materials as their full size counterparts. I'd be up for a nano fluted Ti Military, a nano Techno, & a nano Crucarta Shamen.

Re: Pendant knife
Well, it wouldn’t have to be linerless but weight is a serious issue on something worn 24/7 like a pendant would be, so linerless might be best.

A little off-topic, but do any of you have the Santa Fe stoneworks delicas that KC has? If they're still around after the dust clears from all the Reveal drops, I may save up for one. They look beautiful. The Deacon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 1:21 pm

An upscale Roadie may work as well.

Given that there isn't much room for pins and such I'd be surprised if G10 alone could handle how strong the back spring is on those little knives. They're fairly stout for how little they are.

Is that a Damasteel wedding ring? My wife is a jeweler and the other day while looking through one of her supplier's catalogs I was surprised to see that they sold Damasteel. I might have to ask to add a piece to her next order.

Where did that serrated edge come from, with the lanyard and dimpling!Mini2white wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 12:26 pmI'd be in for a pendant knife. Here are some pics to aid in the discussion

Re: Pendant knife
Its a police necklace, but a very poor finish on it. Unfortunately I didnt pay very close attention to the poor quality photos when I bought it. It came complete with box and case. Never mind.Doc Dan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 11:40 pmWhere did that serrated edge come from, with the lanyard and dimpling!Mini2white wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 12:26 pmI'd be in for a pendant knife. Re: Pendant knife
I tried that. It’s okay when hiking or fishing, but it’s too big to wear 24/7/365.

Is that the Ti or the stainless version? I always wanted the Ti Police necklace. When they came out, I thought they were expensive so I never bought one. If I had known what they go for now, the price might have been easier to swallow. Back then, a buddy of mine had the gold colored one for sale in his shop. It sat for a few years collecting dust.Mini2white wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 12:26 pmI'd be in for a pendant knife. Here are some pics to aid in the discussion.

It is the Ti Police with ATS34 blade. They are very light.013 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:47 amIs that the Ti or the stainless version? I always wanted the Ti Police necklace.
