Here’s my rosewood Pingo with scales made by Ted Phillips here on the forum (phillipsted). I’ve had these scales on this Pingo for years now with zero issues of warping, etc. and these guys are linerless. I’m betting a Shaman in this configuration with the steel liners will be quite nice. My guess is that the scales might need a final bit of polishing and buffing to really make them shine (pun intended ) since I’ve noticed factory wood scales always seem a bit duller and less finished than custom ones I’ve picked up (understandably). Just like all these other limited models, once they’re sold out, prices jump quickly. Cheers, Radioactive
A little Renaissance Wax on the wood scales will do wonders. :)
After seeing the Reveal #4 I think I'm out on this one. Too many other great choices forthcoming. I don't carry my Pakkawood knives very often. So not much sense in adding this one
This is one of those times where I'm grateful for going after different scale materials/colors. That reveal is amazing! But I think I'll stick to this one, as I've already got the orange scales on the PM2...just hoping these scales vary a bit compared to my Pakkawood Delica. All sorts of great stuff popping up these past few days!! A great time to be a knife nut
No regrets on this pre-order for me. Like Rick, I appreciate the variety in scale material and colors. But that burnt orange manix will be mine!
No real regrets for me on any knife purchases except maybe that I've got a little carried away. Let's just say I now have way more than I need or can use practically. I was kind of impulse buying this one. Since I already have the Cruwear and 4V Shamans, I'd likely end up using those and the Rosewood one would sit in my locked drawer or gun safe. I also have a couple Rex 45 knives that haven't really been used yet. So I think it's best to let someone else have a crack at this one. I still have my pre-order in but I'll likely cancel it.
As far as the Rex 45 sprints are concerned. I have some burnt orange HAP40 & (as mentioned) Rex 45 knives. I don't mind the burnt orange but I only want so much of it. So the only ones I might actually try to get are the Native 5 & Manix 2 LW. All the others are great but I'd be buying them just to have. Trying to stop doing that.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Hopefully there r more coming at a regular price .Killing me not to grab it on eBay
I'm pretty sure KC has done multiple runs of their pakkawood models. I know I waited 6 months for the dragonfly, anyhow. I bet they'll order more after this run goes out.

Yup... looking at the pictures on ebay, that's laminate. "Solid rosewood" laminate probably. That's fine with me... I've liked their Pakkawood series, and I'm game for this too.
Did anybody else notice the CC#002 on eBay...that bevel grind is EXTREMELY uneven based on the pic from the front with the knife closed. Really hope that isn't the case with all of these.
