Love the color of the scales on that mili!!TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 8:40 amThese two today. The ZT is new to me, just finished up a reprofile on it and it's now a laser! Amazed at how much smaller it is than a Military, but the cutting edge is just about the same. Both are lightweight, similar steels (ZT is 20CV) liner/frame locks. Figured it would be fun to compare them throughout the day at work today.

I loved the ergos and performance of my Millie, but it was (closed) just too long to be comfortable in RFP... The Millie would somehow not be a Millie without that huge lanyard tube, but having that (and the space and length it demands) made it not the best carry for me.

Today's carry inspired by a gloomy winter day and the upcoming KC Shaman.

Haha yeah, my wallet's taken a hit recently on account of SDK.. at least new scales are a little bit cheaper than new knives, right? Hah, there's a little of my knife addict logic for you..TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 11:18 amI just checked out Sharp Dressed Knives...wish I didn't. That could do some SERIOUS damage to the wallet! So many nice options there.DSH007 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 10:58 amYes! I liked it so much on the GB2 that I ordered a set for the Smock. I prefer the finish on the GB2 scales.. the Smock scales are smoother for some reason even though they are the same material from the same company (Sharp Dressed Knives).. still really nice on the Smock though, I think!
Side note to anyone paying attention - I would not recommend disassembly of a Smock to anyone who is not confident in their skills.. or who has poor eyesight and/or chubby fingers.. that second detent is TINY! Tweezers are definitely your friend..
I also agree disassembly of the Smock, thankfully I watched Shabazz's video prior to doing it or else I would have for sure lost that detent ball. Even with tweezers and a steady hand it wasn't the easiest to get back in place haha.
I also watched the Shabazz video, which was definitely helpful.. my Smock actually went together a lot easier for me than I thought in would when it was sitting in pieces on my desk.. but I have no intention of taking it apart again if I don't have to haha..

Another THANK YOU to Shabazz for that disassembly video. I took mine apart over a big tray so I was sure not to lose that tiny little bugger.DSH007 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:33 amHaha yeah, my wallet's taken a hit recently on account of SDK.. at least new scales are a little bit cheaper than new knives, right? Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Been carrying this Military all week. I normally rotate my knives daily, but for some reason this has found it's way into my pocket with something else every day this week. The Matriarch is just so cool and different, and being a surprise from my wife it finds a lot of pocket time lately too! I'll tell ya what, I feel ready for ANYTHING with this combo :)
