Using LC200N shouldn't be a problem but creating a true "salt" knife is a different story. That's a whole new model. Ain't gonna happen.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
I'm in for a Dragonfly, Chaparal, or Para 3 Lightweight.
The only forum knife I ever felt I missed out on was the 2013 Green G-10 Native; thought it was awesome but didn't pull the trigger.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
Was there a 2019 forum knife?
Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
That isn't a whole new model, it's just changing the material of the liners and hardware. If you mean the Yojumbo part, it was at BLADE this year so it's already in the works in some form.
It would definitely arrive with a bang!

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
I view the forum knife as something of a gift from Spyderco to forumites. Making it relatively simple probably makes it more likely to happen.
Then again, last year's had a unique inlay. Maybe we could do another inlay. This time on the Lil' Native with "2020."

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
It seems like past forum knives have mostly been signature models like the pm2 and native 5 that appeal to a lot of people. I'm guessing the Yojumbo isn't on that list (and definitely wouldn't be for me).

We're watching the thread, FYI.

Seems like a lot of us were pretty into a few themes lately:
-delica family knives with a good color and dlc blade
-crucarta combo on any number of models
-rex45 on golden models that haven't seen it yet (also with micarta scales or the burnt orage g10)
Just a few I can think of from threads over the last few months.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
I agree with that. However, I will submit one idea that runs counter to your statement. The Manix 2 XL has been relatively neglected in terms of sprints and exclusives. So perhaps it should be considered. On the other hand, it's clearly a less popular model.
Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
Another Golden possibility - the Manix 2 backlock. That model didn't sell well but what if they a did a run in flat dark earth and Cruwear...
Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
Sal, can we at least have some direction as to whether the model can be made anywhere(Taichung) or just Golden. Also, does the steel have to come from the US as well? It seems that would help us come to some agreements.

Dear god, no CBBL. Compromise on the O.G. Manix? :)

Make it in G10 or Carbon Fiber UKPK and I’m in.Brock O Lee wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 8:06 pmMy vote is for a UKPK in a nice steel.

Maxamet/g10 UKPK. Carbon fiber or micarta would work too.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
Can I suggest the possibility/option of having our forum names etched into the blades? Like happened with the Forum Bugs? To me this would make it even more cool and personal. I think even your join date added too could be over the top cool.

Re: What would it take to get a Forum Knife?
I'm in for any UKPK variant but I think if it's done with the same Crucarta treatment the Shaman got last year it would be a slam dunk

+1, but do you prefer the same brown micarta, or something else? Would anyone be opposed to natural or burgundy micarta?bbturbodad wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 8:57 pmI'm in for any UKPK variant but I think if it's done with the same Crucarta treatment the Shaman got last year it would be a slam dunk

I'm fine with the UKPK but I still want that Damasteel.
