I actually tried one-hand operation on the SS Delica I gifted my father for Christmas. It's pretty smooth, intuitive and easy. Guess I know what folder I'm buying next.

What do you mean by "SS" Delica?
"SE" like in serrated, or maybe the "SS" (straight spine) Stretch (and not Delica)?
Anyway, I find one handed operation backlock operation even easier on larger knives than on smaller ones. So if it works well with the Delica, it certainly also will with larger backlock-folders.
Generally one handed backlock operation most likely has a bit of a longer "learning curve" than other locks (I myself really just can´t recall how it felt at first, it´s just too long ago that I got my first backlock knife). But people who really use their knives (or just like to practice a bit) will get the trick pretty soon I think, and then this is in my opinion a very safe and easy to operate lock type

I think SS stands for Stainless Steel, so he is talking about the Delica with stainless steel handle.

It would be nice if Vivi returned whenever he's ready. I have said it before but I learned quite a bit from him, especially the finer points of sharpening.
We all, myself included, could do with a little (or a lot) more patience.
I thought the steel for the P4 lightweight was supposed to be k390? I remember a video with Eric stating that I'm pretty sure.
Can't speak for others but VG10 works better than K390 as an EDC for me due to the corrosion resistance. I'd rather touch up a little more often than scrub rust out of pivots.
