Wow, it's getting pretty late, and you're still on line. Where are you?

Re: Shawn - Thanx much
They are some of the nicest folks I ever met.
I can have somewhat of a chip on my shoulder from being a freehand sharpener for so long.
I had to set all that aside to open my mind to learning something new. Seems to be a theme for all things in general :D
Here, Ben was teaching me on my Spyderco Tenacious.
Thought you would like to know Sal that the H1 salt is one of Ben's favorites. :D
I'll have to share more sometime.
Yes, edge geeks are edge geeks no matter what they use.

I've had an Edge Pro for many many years. Good guys and they make a good product. In my opinion, best of the clamp systems. Jim Ankerson also uses an edge pro. It's a lot different than stones or the Sharpmaker, but as I've said, "all good, just different". If you are going to be a blade aficionado, you really need to taste all of the flavors.

Shawn,
I really liked the stones you let me try out. I noticed that the CBN polished more than the Diamond from the ones I tried. I am a sucker for a stone that polishes well.

Hey Jason,
Good to see you here. Another junky that appreciates fine stones.
Hey Shawn, I used your knife to cut my sushi tonight. The belly worked well. I'll send it to you next week. But...........no public pics until we're within 6 months of production. I'll need to know if you would like any adjustments. I also need to know what handle material you would like the scales to be, and if you want any other changes.

Having watched this process as a newcomer to these forums I think it’s so cool that this developed so organically.
I’ll be in the market for the knife and the stones!

I believe I showed Jason one of the early prototype stones a year ago.sal wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 12:04 amHey Jason,

Well,
Very, very exciting to hear.
Sounds good, no public pictures.
Can't wait to get my hands on that baby and put my edge on it.
I'll have lots to share with you Sal when I receive.

Re: Shawn - Thanx much
Current stone is now Diamond.
bonding and features are different as well.
"Super Vitrified" Diamond Waterstones
Over the past year of testing with a professional sharpening company that does over 10,000 blades a year the current stone has shown the highest resistance to dishing (dishing="losing flattness", it stays flatter the longest) and it is also a true "splash and go"(meaning it doesn't need to soak in water before use) yet, this current bonding also retains excellent tactile feedback which is very unique and usually an inverse relationship. Also, this stone exhibits minimal loading if any which doesn't effect the cutting performance like Venev and Naniwa Resin stones which clog up and need constant dressing and cleaning to function and which can also can cut slowly in comparison.
The previous vitrified CBN stone was a soaking stone and had porosity with excellent feedback and fast cutting speed but the trade off was that it was more prone to dishing than current super vitrified bonding.
The only trade off with the current stone is higher cost.
