Lost knife

#1

Post by redhawk44357 »

Well it finally happened, lost my endura. Last thing I remember was putting in my right front pants pocket, 30 minutes later I realized it wasn't there. I back tracked my movements but to no avail. Gone but not forgotten. That was 4 days ago and still makes me sick.

Ouch... Sorry to hear that.
Never had this happen to me with a Spyderco, but losing a Victorinox Huntsman Plus over a decade ago still annoys me.

(if you got there by car, it might be worth checking under the seats; I've read about several people finding their lost knife under there)
A tiger has claws.
A wolf has teeth.
An eagle has talons.
We, have Spyderco.

Man, that hurts, I am sorry for you!!

I lost two Spydercos till now, and the first one also was an Endura (VG10, blue handle). Really loved this knife, it was my most carried by far at the time.
Lost it on a mountain hike, must have fallen out of my pocket somehow. When I realized it was gone I turned around and went searching for it, with a headlamp, for it was dark already. I made almost 6000 feet (1800 Meter) of vertical distance on this mountain, just while looking for the knife, but it was gone for good... :(

Since then I make sure that the pocket clips on my Spydies are rather tight, sometimes to achieve that I bend them down a bit more.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Hopefully someone didn’t find it before you lost it. Sucks man. Pour one out for the homies.

I lost my Shaman this way. It's probably in a pawn shop in Charleston, SC for $50 right now.

It always sucks. I’ve lost a few salts overboard over the years and it always stings. I think it might actually be worse as you get to watch it sinking into the inky depths. Haha.

Honestly I would rather straight lose a knife than have to say goodbye to one at TSA. I’ve lost two knives to TSA, an Endura and PM2. Both times I was late for my flights and just had to hand them over.

I feel your pain, but, I think it feels better when you replace a knife you lost. It’s kind of like when your dog comes home after being lost a week!

I can't remember the last knife I permanently lost, it's been so long, probably an old timer stockman or case canoe.
If it's easily replaceable, no big deal to me... disturbing if not.

I usually find mine under the seat between the seatbelt buckle and center console.

Probably doesn't happen to many of you (men) on here, but twice now I've lost a delica, only to discover it stuck by the pocket clip to the magnet on my purse latch. Not sure if the magnet actually pulled it out of my pocket or if it miraculously saved the knife after a strap pulled it out, so I don't know whether to be thankful for magentic pocket clips or not!

i’ve lost my delica ss combo after 9 years using it.
was traversing a rock face at malibu creek and it fell out into the rock pool.
wanted to go after it but someone in my group fell in the same area and never he touched bottom.
at least it’s an easy replaceable production piece.

It was a lost knife that brought me back into the Spyderco brand when I first joined this forum. I was carrying a Buck Rush and lost it at work somewhere. Then I went back and dug out my Native LW and remembered Spyderco and that was the start of all of this for me.

Sorry to hear. Lost my military which started my collection that I’ve used for 5+ years. Even though I got a replacement, it still doesn’t feel the same. :(
