Ive never fooled around with black friday/cyber monday before. Do the big online dealers do good discounts on spydercos or are they only giving you credit or???

BladeHQ has their Black Friday sale up now, although It included a shaman for $187 which I'm pretty sure is standard... there are many things I love about BHQ but the way they run their ‘sales’ always confuses me as a consumer.

I've been keeping my eye out but haven't seen much in the way of any types of ads for Spyderco sales yet.

I'm hoping for a decent price (maybe 20% off?) on the Gauntlet Premium so I can pick it up as a gift.

I've seen a few places advertising black friday as a "MAP holiday" for other brands. Nothing yet for spyderco, though.

I just got bit by a spyder again. BHQ bundle deals. Finally grabbed a province. Came with a mantra 2 almost free at 290.
Also magnitude was only 180. Guess they've been discounted for awhile just never payed it much attention. Looks preety nice to add to collection.

Not really a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, but I ended up using the code NOVSAVE19 to get 20% (up to $20) off of the Spyderco Gauntlet Premium. My mom and her partner run a bar and grill and he was just complaining about needing a decent sharpener so he can stop sending his knives off. Should be perfect for him. :)

Their bundles are smoking deals, but their "sale" prices are quite often normal price, which rubs me the wrong way, since it seems very dishonest.

MAP doesn't prevent any dealer from selling less than another. It simply limits how low you can ADVERTISE an item.

The easy way around it, is to add a line that says, "add to cart, to see price".

bud-a-bing, done deal.

Just remember MAP= minimum ADVERTISED price

Anything other than that would be considered "price fixing" = illegal.

As noted, with MAP pricing becoming the norm with knife companies, big sales are kinda out. A few years ago you could count on cool sales, today you just get a ton of Kershaws for sale.

Now a few companies have suspended MAP for Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year, and I think that would be a great trend for everyone to adopt. I see a lot of upsides for everyone with that, and very few downsides.
