Saw that they are in at the SFO as well. I would buy one if it wasn’t for the CF/G10 scales, this beauty needs smooth CF scales!

Was there ever confirmation that they were actually making CQI changes to it?

Also, see vid @7:30. Eric confirms at least a pivot bushing upgrade for future compression lock and lightweight models. Will be a seamless change. Kapara, Ikuchi, and Sage are ones he specifically mentions.

I got confirmation of CQI changes a little bit ago: a bushing pivot system and a more recessed tip.

Hope that helps folks with their decisions,

Glad they fixed it and hope the design is a success as it should be.

Not sure if I'll purchase yet. If I do, it will be the fourth Spyderco where I purchased one from the first batch, which had issues, then had to purchase a second one months down the road for a corrected copy; effectively paying double for one good knife. Not sure how I feel about that right now.

I had no issues with my Ikuchi. I think most didn’t. I have sold most of my Spydercos and will end up with two Great Eastern Cutlery traditional slip joints. However, if I were to buy another Spyderco it would be the Ikuchi. Thin, light ( I can carry it clipped inside my shirt pocket), supremely easy to open, sharp, pointy and extremely useful for my knife needs. Obviously, I love that knife.

I have a tendency to buy only sprint runs immediately (for obvious reasons) :)
When it comes to the Spydiechef i kinda wish i'd picked up a pre-black hardware one though since i much prefer the looks of the "old" one.
