Endela ZDP-189

#1

Post by Albatross »

Will the Endela be released in both VG10 and ZDP-189 on launch? I'm assuming the Endela will be released in VG10 first, and if the demand is high enough(strong sales), ZDP-189 models will come later, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Waiting for this model, the Police 4 LW K390(that's gonna be a while), and the Native Chief, is proving difficult... it's only been about a week... Oh man, am I in trouble.

From what I understand, I am pretty sure the Seki sprint run this year will be K390. That includes the Endela and P4 LW.

I think that's right, but ZDP could be regular production, no?

Would love to see a k390 endela. I love the form factor of this knife and that would make a very nice / useable platform to test that steel...

I believe Sal said something about ZDP. I'm too lazy to look through the bombshell thread. If I had to rank the likelihood of steels for the P4 LW, they would look like this: K390, ZDP, and Hap40. As for Hap40, I have no knowledge of this steel making it to the P4 LW, nor have I heard of any rumors claiming this. Hap40 is a popular steel, so I wouldn't be surprised if it made its way to the P4 LW one day. I'm still going to beat the drum for a laminated CoS Seki sprint run — P4 LW included.

Need ZDP-189 Endela. Digging my SE Endela. Like the handle size/shape. Just a great knife if you like the Delica but wished for a little more handle.

Looking forward to the k390 for my first Endela.
I wonder if ZDP will happen. Perhaps not because Sal has said that the steel’s cost has risen dramatically.

Well that’s unfortunate. ZDP is often overlooked, but it’s one of the best edge holders available today.

ZDP-189 is an excellent steel. We are lucky to get access to ZDP-189 in well designed knives for a fair price. I worry they may discontinue ZDP-189 due to the price of materials. I hope they continue with the Endela.

Next would be my hope for a Superblue Endela, problem is it would sell out in an hour.
