Recently, I acquired from the Counter Intelligence Corps Association a bottle opener with the Military Intelligence branch insignia. This is a design that would be easy for Spyderco to do, laser cut steel and a black "bug".

Note the dagger. I mean, this is a knife forum.

Been using my Micra for this lately. For a long time I had trouble getting it to consistently work the first try, but lately I've been having good luck with it.

Bottle openers are cool, but I don't drink so many beers that I want to carry one around with me all the time. I like my knife to be a knife, and don't want it cluttered up with extra gizmos. How can I open my beer using whatever tools are normally at my disposal?

This is a variant of an old rock climber's trick where we'd use a 'biner to open our beers. The key is to give the blade some upward pressure with the thumb of the "bottle hand," while giving a little upward rotation with the "knife hand." Do it right, and you're not putting much pressure onto the pivot of the knife. The trick is all in your thumb.

i don't drink at all, but i've been getting into playing around with a balisong trainer that started falling apart almost immediately, so i just ordered a bbbarfly. flipping is a lot of fun and i do occasionally enjoy the mexican coke that still comes in glass bottles and has cane sugar instead of corn syrup. plus, you can take a bottle opener anywhere. i'll try to remember to post back here when i get it in the mail next week.

I found those four openers in a box in my dad’s attic while doing his estate. When I mounted them they were so dark you couldn’t even read them, I took a sheet of scotch brite and gave them 6 or 8 light swipes to clean them up a little.

The Life is Good opener was a gift from my wife.......I “couldn’t not” mount it there also!

The Dr. Pepper one works the best, and it’s my favorite!

My dad carried this in his wallet as long as I can remember. When he passed I took it and contacted the Jack Daniels distillery and inquired about a few more to give to my brother and friends. It's doubles as a spinner to determine who buys the next round. I've always thought it was really cool even though I rarely ever use it
