Welcome back!

It has been a little crazy lately. I believe and hope that it is like the piece of road "Under Construction" that you seem to run into on every vacation - annoying, but you can't let it ruin the goodtimes! I've found that starting to use the "Ignore" feature has really improved my Forum experience :D

Hope you'll reconsider leaving again.

Personally I think all the negativity started about the exact same time that Vinny77 joined up. Ever since then he's got a new name "Scotch" and he's just a troll.

I think it's a great place.

You should stay :)

FoM-
We been down this road! With all due respect I think it would be best not to point fingers and calling someone a "Troll" is blade forum stuff that seems to be used freely around here lately..."Scotch" has never caused me problems. Maybe this was a combined problem.

Ken,

How about looking in the other thread about the Calypso Jr how he used the "F" word against me and told me he'd cut my leg off.

With all due respect.......screw scotch.

I would appreciate it if you would quit defending the criminal who happens to be the only one who keeps causing trouble on this forum. I'll point fingers because he's the one that continues to cause trouble.

I gave him many chances and I'm fed up with him. He should be banned for using the "F" word.

Hey, if you want to team up with him Ken, you go right ahead. Enjoy.

Ken, just because I'm a Christian does not mean I need to be a push over. Scotch is a jerk. Deal with it.

This sounds familiar. I believe it was the same thing you said in that "other thread".
Oh I did read all the crap in that "Thread" and it appears that your ignore function was not working because you could not help yourself from makeing further comments. I really think you were enjoying it. I believe the reason he said what he did to you was because that would have been his response for you cutting a chunck out of his dash....actually funny stuff. A whole lot about nothing....don't get me wrong you can tell a lot about a person just by reading there stuff". I'm just saying that if you don't just ignore it than we deal with it.

Really have enjoyed talking with you tonight so we don't really need Scotch. You and I could keep it going.

your turn,

It seems to me we have been using the term "troll" a little too quickly of late. I think early on in his posts some people had problems with Spydercolchester but he has contributed a couple of interesting threads of late so maybe at times we are too quick to judge. Maybe if there is or has been a problem with certain threads that we are all to blame if they have gone too far - whilst some of these threads may appear "entertaining" they only continue because of all our contributions. As others have said there is the "ignore" facility but maybe that is not the overall answer as maybe we need more self-control because if we "feed" an alleged "troll" we only feed his/hers ego. Unfortunately, "trolling" is a fact of life on these types of forums but they only exist because we continue to post to their threads.

Most of the names you mentioned still post here: the Deacon, vampywolf, Simona even, and JD Spydo, crahen, UK Ken, Samo, Jurphas, Ted, and Dr. Lector...etc, you just have to look for 'em. I know I'm a late entry here, but I can assure you that I will be here for the duration of my ability to type!!!

On another issue fellows, consider the post made recently describing trolls and their methods: we are falling into the trap, intentionally set or otherwise, by bickering amoung ourselves. I have many buddies but ignore none, and deal with that fact just fine]
ps-Right on Jdee!!! We had the same thoughts at the same time; you appearantly type faster than I do, though. Yes, I admit to teaching myself to type
Yeah! I probably have the advantage - I am an ex Telegraphist and we had to send 30 telegrams in 30 minutes to pass (I passed with 30 in 29) but then again that was a 3 row keyboard and I admit I am slowing down a tad.

I think the old ones are experienced enough not to reply more than necessary to uninteresting posts (aka feeding the trolls), that's why you don't see them that much (at those particular topics, I mean).

One of the problems is the same as when a knife club grows. The more members you have the greater the chances are that you will get undesireables and/or personalies that don't mix. The only way to get away from that is to have a closed private club or forum where every new member is screened.

Another problem is with todays society. People in general are less respectful, less polite, and quick to be aggressive with one another. Add immaturity to the equation, and you have a real mess!
