We've been having some really nice unseasonable sunny and dry weather here.

I also switched back to my HAP 40 Endura (burnt orange handle version) after a long time of Endela SE and Pac Salt SE. It is such a great model.
And I have to repeat: I love to see yours again in this thread!! (As cool as your Clipitool is, don´t get me wrong!) :)

One question: How come the "Patina" on the SUS410 upper part on your blade (and not only on the lower HAP40 part)? Looks very cool, but can´t be a real Patina, right?

This is in my pocket today, but the pic is not a current one... since the weather is really nasty and cold today, I choose to pick a photo from when it still was summer... :)

I never carry more than one knife but I got to chatting with a sailor here on Base that’s a bit of a knife knut who’d never handled a flipper or a Chris Reeve knife.

So, we had a show and tell this morning.

He just changed out the scales on a PM2 but I reckon it’s a little “rough” so I gave him the Insingo to play with over the weekend (on threat of violence if it comes back dinged up) and I took his PM2 to tune. :)

Thanks Wartstein! You are correct, it's not a natural patina. I treated the blade with sulfuric acid. (I had some left over after installing a new motorcycle battery.) The HAP40 was developing a patina just fine, but I wanted the entire blade to have some coloration and am considering treating the pocket clip. I'll post a couple more pics in the "Show Your Patina!" thread.
