That guy had a large impact on our hobby. He also helped some big names get a start and influenced many. Yes, condolences to his family.

There was a time a few years back that I really liked some of Gerber's stuff. I do offer my condolences to his family and friends. I'm sure he was a great guy.

It was Gerber, collaborating with Blackie Collins, that came out with the very first Zytel (FRN)-handled lock back knife (the Gerber LST) in 1981.

One of the 1st nicer knives I bought was a Gerber Mk 1 dagger. Still have one of the old Loveless Daggers buried in my stuff. Carried a Gerber Gator for a bit in the Army.
