Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
I hope they change the ergos of the mule. They definitely didn't fit my big hands well.
Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
Has that idea been tossed around before? Think it'd be like a folder assembly-required-get-your-own-scales kit, or more like a basic folder model that just comes in new steels?

Some people have requested the folding mule idea be used on the uk penknife platform but others don't like the idea because they prefer the mule as is with it being a fixed blade.

The Urban LW was popular for this, but with the QC issues on the last one I don’t know if this will continue.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 11:14 pmSome people have requested the folding mule idea be used on the uk penknife platform but others don't like the idea because they prefer the mule as is with it being a fixed blade.

Would it have to be a non-locking knife for cost reasons? Seems like the delica would be a good candidate, too, if a locking knife is a cost-effective option.Doc Dan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 11:17 pmThe Urban LW was popular for this, but with the QC issues on the last one I don’t know if this will continue.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 11:14 pmSome people have requested the folding mule idea be used on the uk penknife platform but others don't like the idea because they prefer the mule as is with it being a fixed blade.
Edit: oh nevermind. I guess a seki model wouldn't make much sense from the standpoint of steel availability.

Hey Doc, I think if you look closely at the complaints about the AEB-L Urban, and compare it side-by-side with the K390 Urban, the issues are really to do with a lower standard of finishing, than design flaws. That's easily addressed in future runs IMHO.
Anyway, that's exciting news. Let's see what comes up. I wonder if the UKPK might be more likely as a folding Mule, being made in Spydie HQ?

The reason for a non locking knife is so our friends overseas can join in.JuPaul wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 11:29 pmWould it have to be a non-locking knife for cost reasons? Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
I'd be down for the UKPK as the folding mule, it's an ergonomic wonder and very well designed.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
Please take the mule discussion to another thread. Good discussion but keep this bombshells only please.

Let's hope. I wonder if it's the afi line of hollow grind Delicas Sal mentioned a little while back.BornIn1500 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:33 pmI really doubt he only means new steels. Sounds like he's referring to the design itself. If I had to guess... I'd say prepare for the folding "mules".

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
After effectively ending the Mule program a couple years ago, isn't Sal saying there's an upcoming Mule-related announcement a "bombshell" worthy of discussion in this thread? Other bombshells get discussed within this thread, so I don't see why upcoming Mule talk isn't a fit as well.
Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
I think any new Mule discussion is a bombshell, especially if describing a folding version.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
I still think the Caribbean would be a fantastic design for the folding mule!
I hope with all my hopes that they don't use any slipjoints, that would remove the folding mule from my list completely. I understand making knives for people in other countries and commie jurisdictions, but they shouldn't be catered to over the majority of us that don't have such restrictions. We want locks! >:)

Or maybe you missed this bombshell in the PD#1 thread ....

Interesting stuff about Mule Teams might be coming.

You are right though, that this thread is not the place to discuss random topics. Winding back I can see what you are complaining about.
This thread is not a place to discuss anything, it is a place to collect Sal's bombshells.
