I put in a pre-order at KnifeWorks 10 minutes ago. Now they’ve taken that option off the page.
If you just put in a pre-order today I would not bank on getting one. Pre-orders are great if you get in early but, depending on anticipated demand, I wouldn't bother after a couple days.
I would definitely agree with this if it was a vendor notorious for not being able to fill pre-orders (KC), but Knifeworks seems more conservative, so I am hoping they have a real count of incoming and limited pre-orders to that. I'm hoping... (cuz that's what I did).

Man, I have been patiently waiting for this for a long time, but I have yet to find one as well. I don't pre-order after bad experiences. Crossing my fingers!

What a beauty. Wish I could afford one, let alone find one.

These are going to look so good after they develop a patina and the micarta darkens from use. Jealous!

I hate to be a contrarian. I love the blade material, but the scale is the only thing keeping me from getting this. The scale color looks like an old woman's bra!
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the brown micarta is great. Pretty much looks the same as on my Temperance 2, which I find entirely to my liking. But I do encourage anyone who dislikes the color not to buy one.

I think it will be in high demand. It's the model that you had asked fr. I was only able to get one for testing. Tomorrow's EDC. There are also a few exclusives in special steels out there. I think it's one of my better designs. I spent a great deal of time on refining the design ( more than most ) and there was some question as to whether or not it would be well received, so we made a plain jane black G-10, S30V version to test the design.

You certainly did good -- in my humble opinion. Thanks. Probably my favorite folding knife. I wouldn't change a thing.

I would agree that Cruwear could be a production steel (if supply allows). They have S110V and Maxamet as regular offerings which I would have expected to be sprint runs or exclusives.

Yep, I agree. I feel those two are better suited to sprints / exclusives as steels at the extreme end of the spectrum, where Cruwear is an extremely well rounded steel that should suit almost everyone except maybe the wear resistance extremists.

How dare you call me a "wear resistance extremists"! (In public) :D

I got strung along by KC on a preorder before, and won’t go that route again.
Yep. Never doing that again either. I am shy of pre-orders in general and that outfit in particular.

Well, I know that Sal has said that "they have only been shipped to collectors and Premieres." so far. But a fact remains. If each Spyderco Dealer on the map get only about 5 knives each. That's it. They'll all be gone.

Not to pick on Blade HQ, but they seem to be the biggest culprit. How can they still have a "Email Me When Available" up? They surely have to be a Premier Dealer, right? Maybe I misunderstand the meaning of "Premier"? I have to think that they've gotten their 5 or 8, or whatever pieces already, and they are all sold out. So why keep the "Email Me" sign up?

Which also just happens to bring me to thinking about the Blade HQ "Pre-Order Down Payment" of the Spyderco Emphasis Liner Lock Knife Black G-10 (3.61" Satin) C245GP. Which has been up nearly all year. If they take say 25 pre-orders, and 20 knives come in on the first shipment (which is a lot, for a single shipment/single dealer) People coming back to that page for days or weeks afterwords, will have no idea what's going on, or if any of this model has been shipped in yet. They'll just continue to see a Pre-Order. So their first thought is, none have been available yet. No way to know, there on that page, at that moment. That 20 did come in, but it wasn't enough to fill all Pre-Orders. So the Pre-Order remains up.
