I hate to be a contrarian. I love the blade material, but the scale is the only thing keeping me from getting this. The scale color looks like an old woman's bra!
I would much prefer anything else. Probably my favorite would be green canvas micarta.

I agree, the scale color isn't what I was expecting. Still will be a great knife though. Contoured micarta...that's dreamy

Patience everyone...patience
They're salivating haha

I wasn't going to get one of these but after using the 4V Shaman quite a bit this past weekend I'm thinking about picking up the Cruwear version. I'm not going to get too worked up over getting one though. If the opportunity presents itself then I'll go for it. Not a big deal if I miss it.
I hear ya Pat. The Shaman is a knife I always overlooked, even when the carbon fiber/S90V was released (mainly because of price) but after jumping on the St Nicks... I'm definitely ready for another in the future! No rush though, just like you...unless it's the right place, time, price.

I actually like the Shaman much more than I thought I would. I usually don't go for beefy feeling knives primarily because I don't really need the extra heft. But this feels good to me. I recently picked up a ZT 0801 on clearance it's about the same size as the Shaman. I'm really liking that one too.

My only experience with micarta scales is on an old Gerber folding pocket knife. The old white micarta is hard and smooth. This micarta looks much different. Looks gripper, but also porous.

Is that the case? Can I expect this micarta to be porous?

Anyone know when it might hit the Spyderco website?

I'd love to take advantage of my OpFocus discount and bring one of these tough Shamans on my upcoming deployment.

I'd contact them as soon as possible. I was already able to place an order directly from Spyderco, and they may be gone already.

Does that complexity decrease the simplicity? Not at all.

I don't mind the color. If the micarta is a little porous, which I'm hoping it is, a little oil will darken it up nicely and give it a bit more grip to boot.

St Nick's had them up briefly yesterday for presale. They sold out before I could even order one. On their site they say that they are receiving them and shipping tomorrow. I obviously don't know if this is what he's referring to though.

It was just moved from New Reveals to products being sold yesterday, I know it says out of stock but I don't think they have loaded the inventory onto the website yet and if that's the case could be as early as today. Of course this is just speculation on my part, I really like Micarta scales but the color is underwhelming. So if I get one I get one direct I'll jump on it if not there are a couple of higher end knives I want and will just use the funds towards another purchase, wish the Drunken was available right now.

Lol! What a way to describe that color! I am with you though. Olive Green Canvas Micarta would have been my first choice as well. But this may look better in person, especially after some wear. I am hoping I can actually score one!

Actually, though I do not have an order in for this knife, I have custom knives with this handle material and it is excellent stuff, visually and functionally. Tastes will vary but I bet most of you will be very pleased.

I don't remember any bras this color, and I go back a ways.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Are they going to be available via SFO at some point or were they sold out already?

The app notified me they were shipping to dealers but didn't tell me when they're in stock at SFO? LAME!
Been checking everyday and still missed it.

Hi Nexgen,

Welcome to our forum.

The model is a sprint run that was asked for by the forumites on this forum. SFO only gets a "fair" number of pieces, but most go to our distributors and dealers. Some of thee "Sprints" are in high demand and sell out quickly.
