I voted for the SE Pacific Salt only because I'm curious how it would serve in the woods and what your experience would be like. The Military is the better choice though in my opinion.

Military!

I don’t have Pacific Salt, and Endura, although a nice knife, does not have the ergonomics and the comfortable grip of the Military.

Not sure who mentioned it, but I don’t see how the Endura’s tip is more robust than the one on the Military?
Here’s a picture, the mili is the DLC Blade on top and the endura is the satin on the bottom

I voted for the manix because that's the only one I don't know much about.
I’m surprised (not really) that people are picking the biggest and heaviest knife of the group. I’d send someone with a smaller/lighter folder. But I purposefully didn’t mention what else I was taking... this won’t be my only knife, but I wanted to have some fun and figured why not use whatever y’all pick to do as much, if not all, my knife needs.

I voted Endura. I just did a 5 day, 350 mile bike camping trip and the only knife I took was a HAP40 Delica. It was plenty of knife for anything I needed to do.
I believe it. Pacific Salts have been with me for over 3,000 miles of bike camping and they were more than enough. Even carried a PE version for a 1,200 mile in >2 weeks trip and didn't have to sharpen it :D

Dude, that sounds like fun. What kind of bike?

Oh and to stay on topic, I voted for the Millie.

Trek Emonda with frame packs. Here's a video I did on my setup https://youtube.com/watch?v=Mhy-7toTy-w

That setup including bike, gear, and of course knife was just shy of 30lbs.

i didn't vote because i personally like to pair my manix 2 lw and pacific salt for edc and outdoor adventures. there's not much you can't handle with the pair and they are both very light. i think the two together are lighter than a leatherman wave. now that i say that... i'd also at least have a leatherman or sak camper in my pack for the saw, awl, and backup blades.

No. Never.

I love the military. For a long time it was “my knife”, the companion in my right front pocket. I EDC’d a mili for many moons :D

Ain’t carried one in a long time due to pac salt/endura.

The one I used to carry was the old style, this one is practically brand new. It’s a CQI version with DLC blade.

Just kidding around. Sounds like it will be fun.

I chose the Military btw. I mostly picked it because it might work a little better dealing with wood. Things like carving, poking, notching, etc. I carried the Pacific salt for a year and loved it. It worked great for cutting hoses, and belts and rope and other man mad materials. Not sure how well it would do with woodworking things you would come across.

Just look at this as an intervention. Your addiction to the PS Is out of control.

I like a SE blade as a choice, but not a primary/only, so I voted millie. I recently got my first, a cruwear version, and I like it a lot more than I thought I would.

Personally I wouldn’t take a folder but from the options above I’d take a freshly sharpened Military.

S30V is tougher than it’s given credit and the fine tip is an asset, far from a liability and not made of glass. ;)

I wouldn't neither, I would take a fixed blade AND maybe throw an SAK in the gear just in case it's needed.

Reason why I recommended a fix blade.

Normally, I’m with you guys. But y’all are missing the point to this. The poll was created purely for fun and wasn’t created for my one and only knife I’m taking with me into a survival situation. I will have a fixed blade if I need one, and I don’t go anywhere without a SAK. The idea of this poll/thread was to take one of those folders and do anything I need with it. I’ve got by fine with just a SAK before (although at times I did wish I had more blade) but I wanted to have some fun and take 1 folder with me as if I was out there with just that knife in my pocket and I was curious to see what y’all would decide to send me with!

I wouldn't go anywhere in the wilderness with just a folder, I don't care what folder it was.

Anything can happen and turn it into a survival situation.....

Yes, I got that. Point taken. However, this thread Isn’t about if I should take a folder instead of a fixed blade.

As previously stated... I’ve been here before and I will have a fixed blade in my bag, should it be necessary.

Wild animals such as boars and big cats are ever present there, so I’m not just walking out there unprepared either. The trusty 10mm with proper ammo will be on my side.

Nice setup. I thought went pretty light but my setup was still close to 55 lbs in total with tent pad food etc. Without any gear my bike pushes 30 pounds with the rack, tool pod, and brooks saddle.

That Brooks saddle looks well worn. I switched over to Brooks about 7 years ago and can't possibly imagine going back. They are the best I've used, by far.

Not a jab but if you can bring down a boar with a 10mm handgun then you are one heck of a shot. FWIW, I love what you are doing and this is a fun thread.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.
