My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
I overlooked this one from day one because of the "boring"( and quite unusual for a spydie) drop point blade shape but after watching a few YT reviews I realized this litte spydie hybrid packs a lot of qualities. It has the potential of a superb edc and it sports one of my favorite locks. Fit and finish and tolerances... made in Taichung... enough said. It reminds me a lot of the long time discontinued Strider PT which I hunted for years on the secondary market. Ergos are perfect for my hand, well ground, very thin behind the edge, and the non-deep pocket clip is a non-issue for me.What can I say... I'm in love. Well done Spyderco/Jerry Brower !

That knife needs to lose the choil, but I very much like the drop point.

I like the Brouwer too. It reminds me so much of the Strider PT that I actually sold the Strider. It really excels with a Lynch clip too if deep pocket carry is your thing.

I love the design overall, but not the lock. The blade is just nice.

I like mine and have used it a fair bit. A lot of people seem to think the choil is wasted space, but you really have to hold the knife to realize that having the choil be part of the blade stock gives you really great control of the blade.
I have always wondered about the lock bar because it seems spongey compared to other framelock knives I have. The lockup is solid, but the actual lock bar seems very flexible and has a weird angle to it.

The Brouwer is one of my favorites! I agree on the ergos.. very comfortable. For me the only downfall is the pocket-clip placement, which is remedied (mostly..) by an MXG Gear deep carry clip. Ever since I got my Brouwer, I've thought that it would look great in full titanium. I'm not sure when they came out, but I saw on someone's FB post the other day that Flytanium now makes aftermarket scales. Ordered a Ti scale for my Brouwer just yesterday.. looking forward to its arrival!

The choil is partly why I find this knife so comfortable in hand. I guess it’s a matter of personal preference though.

I can see the resemblance. I always refer to the shaman as a striderco. It feels like a slim SMF to me.
Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
Striderco would be the lionspy right?
Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
^^ I like it! That minus the choil would be choice. I guess the choil is necessary to accommodate the lock button.

Glad to hear I’m not the only person who thinks that the Spyderco Brouwer is basically the Spyderco version of a PT. Only it’s better, IMO.
With a low riding MXG clip it’s perfection.

Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
Spyderco is exactly why I don't like my Striders. I have a PD#1 SMF that is unused because I'd have to change it way too much just to make it slice like my daily carry Spydercos.
Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
I think the Sage 2 is the CRK Spydie. The Brouwer has a G10 show side scale, lock bar face insert, and finger choil. It's the StriderCo.
Re: My STRIDERCO just came in and I'm in love !
:D This thread made me smile. Visited Golden last week and of all the temptations to choose from, I brought home a Brouwer. Liked the looks of it at first sight, but was a bit put off by the S30V. No regrets now having handled one. I hope there are other variations someday. Might as well mention, as I was surprised that my better half wanted a Dog Tag...she loves that thing and immediately tied a small fob on it to carry. Ah, it's all still a mystery to me. :D

I love the lines of that knife, but that clip just looks like such an afterthought. If it was a G-10 slab and deeper wire clip I'd be in.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I've thought long and hard about this one. Ti framelock is perfect to me. Blade shape is perfect. G10 color is great. There's just something about it that I can't put my finger on that turns me away.

And i think the Strider handle looks like a wedge of cheese shape wise, and don't get me started on Mick Strider, for the sake of shiny footprints :)
Suffice to say i would hate to be found dead with a Strider on me.
