I always understood this project as being a kind of gift to the knife community. The idea of having regular releases of interesting steels in the same knife pattern is a great test bed for steel geeks.
I'm sure producing small runs of steels which are not commonly used in production knives, can also be a right royal PITA at times for the people involved. It's one of the many reasons why Spyderco are an industry leader in the knife world.
As interest seems to have been dropping off in terms of sales - for example, despite the market appetite for Cruwear, the PD1 Mule has been available for a long time - where will the MT concept go from here?
There's been talk of using one of the inexpensive folding patterns instead. The Urban and UKPK have both been mooted as possibilities.
Sal has recently mentioned that we might have some interesting news coming up.
What do you think? Knife models, steels, the value of the project in general? Let's discuss here.
