An Ambitious Design
Can anyone shed some light on the positioning of the plunge grind on the Ambitious?
It lies covered up within the liners/finger guard area on mine.
I think it's intentional, because the stock photos hint at that positioning.
Regardless, it looks like you can't really get all the blade when sharpening even if you work with it unlocked.
There appears to be enough meat in the guard area to grind down, but wondering why the factory didn't do this...
It's a solid knife otherwise; One that I have enjoyed using.
Any thoughts?

I would suggest taking the knife apart and grind a sharpening choil in the blade

That’s one way to have a longer edge length than blade length.

I think it's just a super compact design and they didn't want to give up 1/8" to have the plunge farther out. I don't remember having an issue sharpening but even if it was sticking out more that last bit is tough to sharpen with the plunge anyway.
Re: An Ambitious Design
If you do that then you will be sharpening even less of the cutting edge, as there will be less cutting edge total, and things can get caught up in that notch when cutting them.
I know it bugs you OP, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I hear you. It looks peculiar, but it does cut through materials fine with edge all the way to the handle.
Re: An Ambitious Design
If it were me I'd take the whole knife apart, put the two liners and scales together, and grind down the front of the handle until the plunge line and edge are exposed.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it on this one.

That makes sense to do, but it does seem odd that this appears to be the way the knife was designed versus being out of spec.
There looks to be plenty of liner steel to grind away (even with everything going on around the pivot/clip area). Also looks like the back of the blade when closed will still sit within the liners.
Good advice. Thanks
