Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
After finally owning 4 different versions of the Manix 2, I feel like I have a simple suggestion that would make the Manix 2 more attractive and better...
Remove all the jimping from the liners
The liner jimping some how makes the knife look more busy and less expensive. And it feels awefull! And thanks to the blade having jimping it's completely redundant.
A Manix with a nice smoothed out handle would be the best one yet IMHO. :D

Naw, I love jimping. The more the merrier! I wish the Lil Native had jimping.
CRU-CARTA THE SEKI MODELS! AND BRING US THE DODO-FLY!
Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
I absolutely LOVE all the jimping on the manix (I own 3, which is more than any other model). Although I’m all for them making a jimping-free sprint or something if there are folks out there who want it.

Jimping on the blade is cool, but on a handle made from G10 is just silly and a hot spot.

It's even sillier on the vastly superior Manix XL. The grip area is essentially U shaped. Don't need any jimping to make the grip secure.

Throw the CBBL into the incinerator.

Agree... I did the exactly the same, with my LW and Cruwear versions.

I could definitely live without all the superfluous jumping.

That's a pretty small amount of coating removed, you should be able to add some other coating and be ok. I'm pretty sure they don't even use DLC for liners so Cerakote is probably more than enough. Can't always wish for things to be what we want, gotta make due sometimes.

I'd prefer no jimping as well. Blade only.
Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
Un-Manix the Manix2 all you want, but I like the model as offered.
Perhaps Eric will envision a Manix3 as having less jimping and a lock back.

Which jimping ? :)
Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
I’ve wanted to grind the big jimping off but haven’t done it yet.
Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
I like the jimping. I could probably live without it though. Would it lower the price point any if it were left out?
Re: Suggestion on how to greatly improve the Manix 2
Too much effort for too little gain. One of the many reasons I prefer the DLC version is the coating makes the liner jimping not feel as sharp.Evil D wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:28 amThat's a pretty small amount of coating removed, you should be able to add some other coating and be ok. Hope there's none on the next Manix.
