I guess I'm not clear on how many kids Mr. Endura fathered. Who's in the family?
Dragonfly, Delica, Endela, Endura, and stretch, Caly3, Caly 3.5
Also the Manbug and Ladybug. ;)

Thanks. I don't understand the family tree, but I'll take a Stretch in K390! :spyder:
Well that’s actually a good question: does the term refer only to the Endura/Endela/Delica, or should we consider the entire (or most of etc...) Seki lineup as the “family”? We’ve seen, for example, the V-Toku2 lineup of Sprints—does that constitute the family?
My collection so far: 52100 Military (2); 52100 PM2 (2); 52100 Para3; Stretch2 V-Toku; KnifeWorks M4 PM2; BentoBox M390 PM2; BentoBox S90V Military; Police4 K390; S110V PM2; SS Delica AUS-6; Wayne Goddard Sprint VG-10
Wish list: Hundred Pacer; Sliverax; Mantra; 52100 PM2 SE; Kapara

Any chances these would get a dlc ot TiCN treatment?
DLC’s not likely as it’s not the coating that the Japanese makers are set up for. TiCN hasn’t featured on any of the the Superblue, HAP40 or V-Toku 2 sprints so far, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t kick off a campaign for it, if that’s what you want. ;)

It’d look good with the dark midnight blue scales, that it sounds like Sal is planning to use for the run.

I guess this series makes it more likely that the FRN Police LW will also appear in a K390 version.

Now, much as I like the patina on my P4, a TiCN K390 blade would be amazing on a midnight blue Police LW!

Edit: I think I recall there also needs to be compatibility between the temperature that the coating is applied at, not exceeding the temperature that the particular steel was tempered at?

Yep, I am not sure either... would never have counted the Caly 3 and 3.5 as family members (they don´t even feature FRN handles, which for me was a defining feature of the Endura family base models) - but what do I know (honestly) ?

I think the Stretch (at least the Stretch 1) has to be listed, cause Sal himself stated originally he planned it to be the "middle ground model" between Endura and Delica. Did not work out saleswise obviously (which I´ll never understand), so now there is the Endela.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I take it to mean the basic Seki FRN lineup, with the Moki made Caly and Caly 3.5 as possible bonuses. I’d forgotten that the Caly and Caly 3.5 never came out with the V-Toku 2 sprint series.

And I don’t believe we got a Caly 3.5 in HAP40, despite having both Calys in Superblue.

We’ll see I guess, when Sal drops by.

The m390 delica is in dark blue, so I'm kinda hoping for something different just to distinguish the two.

Don't need anymore Dragonflys or Delicas but it would be hard to pass up K390 versions, especially if the FRN is a good color

I believe it's supposed to be a midnight blue run of k390. What the difference is, I do not know. The color may change as well, since BBS had their blue Delica, as mentioned above.

Since I've missed all the cool steel delica wharnies I'd certainly jump at one in k390 regardless of colour.

Yes, there was. I believe they should do two times the normal number of knives for this series with half TiCN coated and half Satin. There is clearly going to be enough demand to support this. Especially if you do models like the Jester, Wharnies, Dragonflies, etc. Id buy a ton of TiCN Jesters and Dflies! :D

Thanks for the correction on that St. Nicks exclusive. I hadn't taken much notice of it at the time, as it's nigh on impossible for us overseas to score those exclusives, what with the time difference on top of the mad lolly scramble.

Wow, that's an incredible Delica!

Jupaul: yeah that's one of the few standard lineup TiCN coated Seki knives. My brother has one and uses it every day on the farm - he's not really a knife person except for appreciating a well made tool - but he loves that knife.

It's been discussed here before, but I think most of us here are surprised there are not more TiCN coated knives in the Seki lineup.

About the only thing that would hold me back from getting one, is I always regrind the reinforced nose area down on my Delicas, Enduras and Police knives. I like them to have that old skool pointy profile, instead of that hump near the tip. But that's just a minor personal preference in the scheme of things. You've got me thinking of a TiCN coated K390 Dragonfly now!

Regarding the colour, I think I recall Sal saying they were thinking of a very dark blue, mixed with black?

I'd like to take this opportunity, while on the subject of K390. To mention that the Manix 2 has yet to get a K390 model. Not to mention REX 45, or G-10 Maxamet.

I have to wonder, how much of this is up to the Dealers and Distributors? Should we think that Spyderco often wants an order for an exclusive run, in order to justify coming out with these other model/steel combo's? Or, am I just impatient, and some day we'll eventually see them? :D
