I really like your mountain/knife photos Wartstein. Beautiful scenery!

Thanks, Connor! :)

I know that I am blessed to live where I live... I am out in the mountains three or four times a week on average, couldn't exist without 'em I guess.

Mountains are probably also one of the main reasons why I am not even deeper into Spydies. I love these knives, but "everything mountain-ish" even more, and so I don't have time, money and energy left for becoming for example a real steel expert.

But using a trusty and beat up Spyder in some knife task up in the mountains: Doesn't get any better... :)

I've been carrying my Manix the past few days instead of my usual Pacific Salt.

Image

Freshly sharpened.

While I like how my serrated Pacific Salt cuts, I have to say it was nice sharpening a plain edge knife free hand. I prefer that to sharpening a serrated knife on a guided system, it's more satisfying.

Nice! Do you know what angle you sharpened at? Looks slicey.

Here's my pic from yesterday. I didn't actually carry the Cold Steel, I'll need to modify the serration pattern before I try to use it for normal utility tasks. I really want to see how SE XHP performs.

Hey Mike, how do you feel about the Smock?? One of those knives people either love, or doesn't really work for them...whether its ergonomics or design. Count me in as a lover!

On todays climb it was the Chap. So light and slim, and such an amazing slicer...

I really like it!
Great blade shape and fun lock...would be better with a more premium steel (4v would have been great IMO).
