My just-one has been the Caribbean for a while now. If I have to downsize it's usually a Dragonfly Salt.

Depends on the city! Most of the time I’m either with Delica or Para3 LW and an Emerson Endura with a lynch clip. When I’m in a city that isn’t blade friendly I carry a made by me Janich bobbed Delica saber grind.
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

The Military is my “just-one” knife.

I don’t have a city combo. I rarely go to a city and if I did I would just carry whatever I want. The closest “big town” around here is 11,000 people and I only go there a few times a year. I stay in my town of 450 people where it is nice and quiet. :)

Caribbean + Baby Horn for my city combo.

Caribbean for just one knife.

Just my normal EDC of PM2 in S35VN and a SAK Camper or Farmer.

I am trying out a Salt 2 SE and Pacific Salt SE as EDC just to see if the Spyder serrations make for a good EDC or not. Saw a tip about dyeing the exposed end of the yellow FRN so it does not stand out so much. So will try using Rite Blue Denim dye for the 1/4 length at the clip end.

My carry doesn't change whether I'm in a major city or not.

I'll be in one today, as well as rural areas. I'll be carrying the same thing everywhere. Pacific Salt SE + Leatherman Micra.

My favorite single knife is the Pacific Salt SE.

My SE Pac Salts(I own seven) are most treasured. In fact it's the knife I would take with me in a trip around the world. When I travel outdoor I allways carry a moded SE Pac Salt.

Can you tell me if the PacSalt's handle is much bigger than the Delica? (Or is it based on the Endura, I can never quite remember...) That one always looked like a cool model that I'd like the ergos of, it's just one I've procrastinated on checking out.

And, I feel like I can be happy again lol

I may reply as good as I can: As far as I am aware of, the PacSalt has in fact the Endura 3 handle. So in length exactly the same size as the current Endura 4, perhaps a tiny bit wider at the rear end (others will know better than me), and finger placements shaped a bit differently (EDIT: And volcano grip pattern instead of bidirectional)

Pac Salt SE will be my next purchase for sure (unless there will be a blue handled Endela PE soon)! Go for one too, so we can share our first impressions... ;)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I almost exclusevly carry only one knife, never a combo. And in my carry it makes not much difference if I am in a city or outdoors. Tendentially I perhaps even carry a larger (as opposed to a smaller) folder more often in the city, cause that´s when I am never concerned about weight or size, which occasionally can be the case outdoors (mountaineering).

Most times it is a larger Spydie (the smallest being the Endela SE since I got it) and like Vivi always a Leatherman Micra (on my keychain). Additionally very often a leatherman Juice S2 (old model!) in the city or a leatherman Juice CS 4 (old model) or Rebar outdoors..

I live in an area where I can carry any size knife, so I don't need two different carry systems. I do, however, like to carry an additional "people friendly" knife in addition to my main knife. A Vic Classic paired with my Endura has worked well for me. The additional tools are appreciated on a daily basis.

That's how I wish they came from factory. Very nice looking tip on yours. I own more Pacific Salts than any other model Spyderco makes.

In a way the wire clip defines a city carry for me. For the longest time, it was the Caly 3, UKPK occasionally. These days it is the Chaparral and Ikuchi, city and travel.

As for only one, PM2.

Hmmm... the pics look great, but not too city-ish... ;)

perfect combo in the city is the manix 2 lw paired with a se pacific salt. these are definitely my favorite two knives. the manix has perfect ergos, carries wonderfully with it's narrow end and wire clip, and that beautifully useful leaf shaped blade. the pacific salt offers the corrosion resistance that makes it great for slipping in my waistband during workouts or trips to the ocean (the ocean is always close in hawaii) and has that famous spyderedge for when i need to cut line or other course materials. they're also both much lighter than they look and are well-balanced in the hand. edc perfection.

if i only had to take one knife though, i'd split the difference with the native salt. it gives me a similar blade shape, edge retention, and ergonomics as the manix 2 lw, but it also adds the corrosion resistance of the pacific salt. if it was a manix, it would be the perfect knife, but as is, it's a nice compromise when i can only carry one knife. it's also nice to have the smaller blade and silly yellow handle when i'm going into places that frown on knives. it is definitely slightly less menacing in appearance and looks like a tool rather than a weapon.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.
