Sal / Eric: what's your EDC rotation?

#1

Post by bagsnatcher »

Gents,

Self-explanatory title: what's in your pockets every day, and what does your EDC rotation look like?

Here's mine, today:

Not quite everything goes in my pockets, some of it stays in my bag, but you get the idea.

I imagine Sal and Eric have a massive prototype collection, and man, would I love to see it.

Sal has said many times that he is usually carrying a prototype or production sample. Always testing. :) I am pretty sure he usually has a Manbug on him as well.

It's wonderful. I picked up two, one to wear, the other to keep as backup.

Casey does fantastic work. I'm eagerly awaiting the day he's going to put out a knife.

As mentioned, new articles or protos.

Yesterday it was the lite weight Sage. The day before was the Endela serrated.

Really?! Endela SE, my most carried knife since I got it!! Never thought that would happen, but I carry it more than my Stretches and Enduras... :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

How do you like it so far? For me it has just something about it that makes me want to have it in hand and use it constantly. Up to the point, that I carry it MORE often than my EndURas, despite I still think the longer EndURa blade is more versatile and more usefull in certain tasks... (additionally the EndELa is my only fully serrated knife of course, and I like that a lot more than I thought I would).

I keep putting one in my cart, but I’ve not bought one because I have a Manix or three. However, I am very interested in the new handle and in a backlock that replaces the PM2.

It is one of those knives that is pure performance. The FFG with serrations on this one is serious. I highly recommend it to any SE fan. As a side note, the SE wharnie Endura is another FFG seriously good cutter. I took it to work for a couple of days. Wow.

Bro, you really should just get one. It's a sweet knife. Both in PE and SE. I don't like 3.5" knives, but I like this one. It just feels sleeker and lighter than Manixes and PM2's. Feels great in the hand. That whole finger bump thing is highly overrated (in my opinion). I have big hands, the bumps don't fit my hand, but it has never bothered me, on the Enduras either. Also, I hope you're healing up quick.

I hear that indeed!! :)

And I'd love to hear your impressions on the Endela!

But I have to be honest and say once more: As much as the Endela handle is just perfect for me, I am afraid it perhaps differs not enough from the Enduras for people who don't like the Endura handle (I do). But even more so I'd be courious on your take.
