When will the SMOCK be available

#1

Post by rothnroll »

Greetings,
This is my first post here on these forums after lurking.
I am highly interested in the Spyderco Smock after watching this video of how fun the opening mechanism looks.

When will this knife be available to the masses and is there anyone taking preorders?

Thanks,

Hi, rothnroll:
Welcome to our forum. The Smock was already released, sold out, and we're waiting on the next batch. To say it was popular would be a gross understatement. :) I don't have an ETA at this time, but hang in there.

We hope you enjoy your time with us.

Kristi

Smock and Ikuchi were too popular for their own good! Won't hesitate on purchasing when they come around for a second time that's for sure.

Glad this is a regular production, was going to pick up a spare on this second drop but it seems to still be in way higher demand than the supply, so I’ll wait again and let some others enjoy this great knife. IMO the only thing that could make the Smock better is a Cruwear sprint!

I just got my Smock in the mail yesterday from cutleryshoppe. Now I am understanding what all of the hype was about, very nice, and different with the push-button release.

Mine arrived! Superb knife and beautiful. The flick is a little more than I anticipated but I’m sure it will loosen up

This was kind of an atypical buy for me, but I've been thinning out my collection lately to raise funds to try out some things outside my usual model comfort zone. I carried the smock for the first time today, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The unique flipper tab and the push button compression lock are a stellar combo - very fidget friendly, which I'll admit, I love. I didn't put it through any hard core paces, but it sliced through a few cardboard boxes and envelopes like butter, and it carried really nicely, even in my dinky pockets. Even the strange aesthetics are growing on me. Of the 4 spyderco flippers I own, this one has the best action hands down. Two thumbs up so far.

Is it me or does the Spyderco Smock have a different clip on the 2nd batch? it's contoured around the lanyard hole instead of below it.
