Any plans for a Lil Native LW?

#1

Post by StuttgartMadness »

The Lil Native looks awesome and I'll hopefully be adding one of its renditions to my collection soon but...
Any plans for a LW? It seems a LW version would go right along with the philosophy of this knife, and it'd bring down the price a little. I'll gladly pay $110 for it, but that's a little on the high side for a 2.5" blade, but I digress...
And a lightweight S110V would absolutely ROCK!!!
Currently lusting after the PM2 in S110V... And the Para 3... And the Military... And pretty much everything else...

Models are usually sorted out in G10 before they commit to a FRN mold. I would be surprised if it doesn't go that way eventually.

I got the compression lock version and it is great. Looking forward to a sprint with LC200N and CF Sage 5-like scales. Both things in one version would be my ideal office knife. A lightweight version with LC200N and bright red or blood orange scales would be fantastic also.

I do not want a sprint. I want a regular production Lil Native LC200N (back lock, of course). Blood orange G10 is fine by me.

Not interested in a Lil Native LW myself, but I think given how people obviously like the (lightweight, FRN) DFly, a basically no thumb ramp, thicker blade version of it could very well be a success..

I really like my lil native. I would buy a LW frn compression lock version because I think it would only weigh slightly more than a dragonfly but have a better lock. I am down for at least 2 Sprint LW compression lock lil native.

I am curious as to whether the Lil Native LW that Sal said Eric is currently working on is a Comp Lock or Back Lock. I would like to see the LW as a backlock with a boye dent and wire clip and released as a salt to pair with the Native Salt. I think this knife is too small for a comp lock to be honest. And I like backlocks more in general and consider them safer to carry after having my Para 3 LW partially open in my pocket more than a few times.

The handles definitely need to be softened on the edges- rounder. Jimping would also be appreciated. Back lock only for me.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I seem to be the only one that doesn’t want to see jimping on the Lil Native. I’m all for a Lil Native LW but would much prefer it remains the way it is, with no jimping!

I would prefer jimping.

This knife will never replace the Dragonfly as they have different attributes. But, Spyderco being king of the small knives, will have two good models to meet the most exacting demands.

Would a lil native backlock in frn be too close to a chaparral frn? Wonder if the compression lock version would allow more variation?
