Opened a couple of packages this morning, then my Endura performed the most important task of the morning... Coffee stirring!

Haha thanks. Yeah, I'd even settle for a nice Spyderco decal to stick on this one. It sounds like they're more likely to offer a ceramic mug, but I'm liking this tumbler more than a mug. Having a lid and insulation is beneficial.

Get outta here!?!? Is he attending SU?? Not being a homer or anything... But SU is a great school, as well as some of the surrounding community colleges. Where is your family from?

Used my Chef to cut my new Resilience out of its packaging. Stumbled across it by happy accident today in the Walmart clearance aisle and couldn’t pass it up. It’s a big, bad beast of a knife! And a steal at $25! It’s not often I say something nice about Walmart, but I was certainly pleased with this find..

That is a great score. I also like the shot, as those two were my first Spydies and remain favorites! :D :spyder:

You will really like that knife. It is a beast and has excellent ergos. The lockup is MORE solid than my Chief. It's a bit of a bummer that tye tenacious sees about 5 times the love as does the resilience. I'd love to throw some titanium scales on mine, further cementing its tank status.

I just used a fire ax to shorten a boat hook that was way too long for any uses we have, and used my resilience to whittle/round of the end that I chopped off. I also used my pacific salt to cut some braided nylon from the cutter head of the dredge, and the edge inadvertently made contact with solid steel. The serrations are fine, but the tip has some rolling.

^ thanks guys! I do really like the Resilience. Long-term, I probably won't end up carrying in much, as I typically prefer something more mid-size for edc, but there is no denying that it is well-made and highly functional. I'm thinking it will end up in my jeep as a backup/beater. For the money, this thing is an amazing deal.

To thin out the edge and remove a nasty chip. Took it down to 15dps on the CBN rods. After this photo was taken I ran it on the browns around 50 passes per side to smooth out the scratches just a bit. Then applied a 20dps microbevel, which feels nice and sticky sharp. Interested in how it will cut with a still fairly coarse bevel. Trial and error!

Thanks Connor, hoping for the best! Never realized how quick and easy setting a microbevel was. Kind of amazed it happens like that, with just a few passes.

Hastily put together a makeshift summit cross on a VERY remote mountain top I climbed yesterday (somehow I hope I was the first person ever up there, but that is not really likely here in the alps... )

Used a piece of dwarf mountain pine, a mountain goat bone and some cordage... AND my Chap FRN (had to go LIGHT), not to be seen on the pic...:)

Image
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)
