Kapara at the Sydney Knife Show

#1

Post by Cubane »

I am not sure how many saw the announcement on my Instagram last weekend at the Sydney Knife Show but I thought I would post it here too. I was fortunate enough to be able to acquire a handful of Kaparas to have on my table at the Sydney Knife Show. They must have fallen down the back of the shelves at Spyderco HQ or something but whatever the case was I am super grateful for the Spyderco Crew to find some for me.

While I was there I entered the Kapara in the Best Production Knife category at the show and what do you know it won!!

Image

As a result of winning, the knife was also photographed by Jim Cooper of SharpByCoop fame. Who flew out to Australia especially for the show. I just got his image so I can share that with you too.

Image

I also got one of my handmade versions photographed so I thought I would show that off as well since it came out so nice.

Image

I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I do. Thanks again everyone at Spyderco for doing such a fantastic job with the Kapara.

Congratulations. Thank you Alistair for the wonderful photos. I have not been fortunate enough to have purchased a Kapara yet. I was hoping to see one in person first but it seems I will have to just buy one. Your customs are gorgeous and would make a great pair with the factory edition.

At least I'm from the country with the inside edge, or am I :)

Congrats on the success of a incredibly designed knife and collaboration with Spyderco. I can’t wait to see your slip joint collaboration come to fruition as well.

Congrats on a well deserved win!
Again, the Kapara and Brouwer were "most memorable Amsterdam knives" to me. I missed the train on the Brouwer but as you know i got a very special Kapara :)
Will get the Brouwer as well eventually.
Keep up the good work, and do take a stroll over to the Amsterdam meet again if you have the opportunity! :)

Congrats on the win!!

Also, the custom version looks really good! I would definitely be interested in a production damasteel sprint... ;)

It's a lovely knife, I need to add one to my collection one day.

Bravo, Alistair! I’m still marveling at what a small knife this big knife is. Spyderco has certainly done you proud.

That's awesome, congratulations Alistair. Ever since I bought my Kapara its sky-rocketed to my favourite knife for EDC. I recently ran into a bit of financial trouble with my son needing some surgery. Had to sell the majority of my knives (all spydercos) to help with cost. In fact I only kept 2. My trusty work horse Shaman and my beloved Kapara.

Congrats again.
