Hemmed and hawed a bit on this one, but pulled the trigger on it. The native is my 2nd most carried model, and the design ergos are good enough I don’t mind the smooth G10
So I did some hardness testing on the manix version, and the Cruwear tested at 62.6 HRC.
They have their heat treats dialed in and very consistent. If you get around to testing a Japan made one please post your test results.
I have tried CPM Cruwear from around rc 59 up to rc 64.5 in a custom and I have yet to find a heat treat for this steel more suited to my needs than Spyderco's. They did their homework on it.
I've only tried smooth G10 on the PM2 from KC and I didn't like it at all. I think that the smooth G10 would be fine for a Native though. Only reason I haven't ordered one yet is because I just picked up a CRUWEAR Delica.

I can see it being a problem in a large(er) folder, maybe.
But in something like the Native, in an office environment, and/or light EDC, this thing is absolutely phenomenal. It makes perfect sense.
I went ahead and grabbed one. I have a set of blurple scales that are sanded a bit for easy in/out of the pocket. It currently has M4 in it but may do a blade swap and sell the M4.

I think you're safe, regardless. Worst case scenario, you might be out a few bucks (cost of "renting" the knife) after flipping it on the secondary market.
You guys make me trust no one on the secondary market. That's cool.
Reddit knife swap, JerzeeDevil, and BladeForums (probably in that order).
I've transacted probably 15K USD year to date through these venues.
To be clear, I'm not advocating swapping out blades, and then passing the knife along as an original. I've seen plenty of blade swaps / handle swaps for sale, and they have all been properly advertised as such.

What’s shady about swapping blades and scales and then selling the resulting knife? We all sell with proper documentation and pictures. Don’t like getting good deals on knives?
