Something happen to Imgur?

I’m an IT midget but I’m unable to access Imgur as I normally would and was directed to their App which I downloaded. :confused:

Anyhow, now I don’t know what’s going on in the App and can’t post pics or gifs anymore! :eek:

Has anything changed for anybody else who uses Imgur?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

They did away with their mobile sign in after July 31.
And, I have no idea or if it's even possible to upload pics from their crummy app

Now they say you can also use the desk top sign in
But, I have no desktop lol.....

Before, I would pull up a pic. Select direct link, then copy the link
And, all good....

This is what it looks like when I open the app on my tablet:



I tap the little round green icon in the corner to select which photo I want to upload;



Select where I want to get it from (usually Gallery)
Upload automatically starts, and usually takes less than 10 seconds to load. Word of warning though, it can be finicky if I have poor 4G service, and will in those cases sometimes fail to upload at all. This is especially the case with very large files. At work, where I have fast Wi-Fi, this is not a problem at all.

When it's done uploading it looks like this:


I tap on the little white copy icon to the upper right of the screen to copy the URL, which I then paste into the Forum with appropriate brackets, etc.

Hey Connor, I can’t find the page you describe. :confused:

I can see my photos and I can take photos but I can’t see a way to copy a link of any sort. If it helps I have an IPhone 8(?). :)

The Imgur app never seemed to work correctly for me. I don't recall what the problem was but I gave up on it. I might be better on IOS but I don't use my work phone much for personal stuff. Instead I just open the web browser on my Android phone or tablet and use Imgur from there. No issues. Which is what I told you Alex when I held Imgur class with you a while back :D

Hey Pat, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing mate ... up until yesterday here. The browser doesn’t seem to work anymore and the only option seems to be the App. :confused:

Well I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that’s been having problems with this. I’ve never been able to get it to work properly with her from the website or the app. So now I’m using postimage.org

Sorry mate, I missed this thread.

I’m on an Iphone 5s and it’s working fine for me.

Fellow tech midget here as you know but I use it by having an icon link to the full site on my phones home screen.

Go to that page, add to home screen to create icon link then you should be good to go.

The pic I posted last night was from my phone. Yet I'm seeing the issue for the first time today. Tried to log in from the phone and got a message that says they've discontinued this function due to low usage. It would no longer be available in August. That's a bunch of BS and just a way to force us to use the app (which I hate). I can set Chrome to use the desktop site on my tablet but I can't get it work on my phone. I just left feedback for the folks at Imgur. Probably won't help anything but who knows

I got the app to work but it's more of a process. You have to copy the link and then paste it between the image tags "img" "/img" (use brackets [ ] where I have quotes, you can also use the insert image button in the editor for this). Once the link is there you need to edit to become BBCode for message boards and forums. Add "i." to the beginning of the link and ".jpg" (or whatever file format your pic is) to the end of the link. Painful!

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work for Android phone users. It works for my tablet but not my phone. The full desktop site loads on my phone but when I go to log in I get the message that says the mobile function has been disabled. I've found a work around with the app but it's not very user friendly.

Ugghhh...I can't use it anymore either. Created a thread with some comparison photos for you guys to help me make a decision and then can't get Imgur to work!
