I'm hoping that we can see the Shaman in a blade steel that has not been used for the Native5 or the Para3

That would rule out an awful lot of great steels!

Sure would. Not many good options left after that.

Are you not curious about the other HAP steels or the REX steels, and how they might perform? There's a staggering amount of steels out there and Spyderco is the outlet. For us stick with whats being offered and not asking for a chance to explore more steel options would be a bit dissapointing to me. I'm not worried about wether spyderco can offer the knife in a handle colour or material to match my attire or preference

Ah, well if you’re talking about trying out the steels that BBB/DBH is using, I’d quickly exceed my ability to sharpen them without a significant investment and learning curve. I’ve only been part of this forum for a year, and prior to that I was using 154cm. I guess I don’t feel like I’ve mastered/exhausted the higher performance steels I have now; I am not currently left needing more. This is not to say I wouldn’t try new steels if Spyderco produced them, so let ‘er rip!

Not all high performing steels are gonna be a pain in the *** to sharpen. Some can have high edge strength and be almost as easy to sharpen as VG-10

Can you tell if the blade of the Micarta one is stonewashed like on the S30V standard version?
Hard to see on my phone screen...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

That Cruwear Micarta one looks great. Can't wait for that! I hope the production version is a nice grippy matte finish rather than a polished one. It does look pretty matte in that photo.

I would assume KC, yes. The real question though is what steel??? All of their other Pakkawood models have been Japan models with Hap40. Perhaps they are going with the closest US steel to Hap40...REX45!!
