Maybe this has been mentioned already but the specs show a blade thickness of 2mm. Is that correct? The regular Delica is 2.5mm. If so, this thing will be slicey like a Chap but with Cruwear.
 Not interested in this knife till right now, but if 2mm stock is true, I suddenly would be...
Right? GP, DLT, and Knives Plus all list the thickness as 0.098" or 2mm.

Man!! As said, I personally don't need Cruwear, but I'd love a 2mm Delica (and generally more 2mm blades that is).

So I am intersted in the STOCK, not the steel... ;)

Honestly I'd take a 2mm VG10 Delica over a 2.5mm Cruwear Delica any day of the week. Even if the former would be MORE expensive...

Maybe somebody can confirm (or not) the 2mm blade when he or she receives the knife... ?!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

The hap40 and vtoku versions have been ground thinner at .098 (2mm)as well.

Are you sure? (I mean by that: Have you just read that or measured for yourself)?

I don't have a HAP40 Delica, but a HAP 40 Endura and Stretch, at least the Endura LOOKS a bit thinner than the 3mm VG10 version... but I never actually measured their stock...

Out of stock at DLT now. That was fast. I guess that just shows how much more known/trusted DLT is vs KnivesPlus. Still 15 in stock at KnivesPlus. Get 'em while you can.

Just checked: 0,098 converts to 2.5 anyway, NOT to 2.00... :(

I took a measurement on one and it came out to 2.4mm thickness at spine on top of the hole. I have updated our spec sheet to reflect this. Looks like the initial 2mm spec was a conversion error.

As far as I remember, I never noticed any major difference in blade stock thickness on the HAP40 & V-Toku Delicas compared to other versions. I usually check these things. So maybe I just missed it or I'm not remembering correctly. Could certainly be either :)

I'll try to remember to check when I get home later

Thanks much! But I am pretty sure already that we have here just a conversion mistake from inches to mm, not a real life difference in thickness...

Except 0.098" is 2.489 mm. And the regular Delica is listed at 0.093". I would be very excited if it was 2mm bit I am assuming it's going to be very close to 2.5mm.

Already shipped from DLT. Didn't see the free handkerchief, but called in to add on an item and got it.

Went from 15 in stock to 37 at KnivesPlus? So they go more in, or cancelled orders of more than 1, or maybe had some declined cards or something? Weird.

I just measured both stnicks and vtoku. Both came out the same, .096, 2.44mm.

I just remember it being said that the Hap40 was ground thinner. I stand corrected.

The blade proper is ground thinner, the stock material is the same.

Does CruWear bring anything to the Delica that the ZDP-189 version doesn't? It looks to me that CruWear is more rust prone and probably not as wear resistant as ZDP. This exclusive is cheaper than the stock ZDP model and it is tempting, but I have eight Delicas and my ZDP version was long ago paid for.

I got home from work mid afternoon and found my notice from DLT ... it said - extremely limited quantities limit of 1. Came here next and read that they were sold out. Just checked for myself and found the same.

You could ask that (and it has been asked in this thread already) even more so concerning the HAP 40 version...

Cruwear should be more durable and it should sharpen up a little better. If your ZDP has been durable enough, stainless enough and you like the way it sharpens then Cruwear may not offer you anything.

ZDP is great but Cruwear is a more balanced steel.
