Among the better steels (and even with lesser ones in the mix), blade and edge geometry is the most important thing, not steel type and hardness. Those follow.

That being said, the geometry does seem to be quite legit on this M390 Delica, without implying anything beyond that.

I'll also say that the knives I've reprofiled to <30° cut better than any factory edge regardless of BTE or spine measurements. One of my knives is a Sage 2 reprofiled to right about 30 inclusive, and it will cut better than any factory Delica, Chaparral, Dragonfly, Police, you name it.. The S30V on it feels like it was done particularly well too, so i'm sure that helps. My ZDP Dragonfly reprofiled to ~22-25°, well, that literally just flies through anything and everything, it has no equal as far as my collection is concerned.

If this M390 Delica is indeed 30° or under, I have really high hopes that it will perform as one of the best, if not the best factory blade ever produced. I have a few on the way so I guess II'll find out soon!

edit: Imagejust got them in... I CAN confirm that these slice on par with something that has been reprofiled to around 30 inclusive. For a factory edge this is very new for me and I'm liking this direction we are going. hopefully next we will see complete regrinds.. thinner PM3, Manix, or lil Native with a 30 degree edge would be absolutely awesome! Slap funky new colors and supersteels on them and call them super-sprints. Or make it the new flash batch.

So.... has anyone heard anything about an Endura version of this?

I don't really carry an Endura much anymore but I could see a nice blue, M390 version bumping my 204P Military out of my pocket quite a bit.

I'd buy my first Endela from BBS if they offered a blue/M390 exclusive!

I'm REALLY hoping they announce an Endura in M390 soon.

I'm hoping for a Jester and Dragonfly next, but an Endura and Endela would both be cool after that.

Has there been any HRC testing of this knife? M390 being run "too soft" was a hot topic right around the time this knife was released. Curious if anyone has seen on any forums, youtube, instagram, wherever of one being tested and where it landed.

I haven't seen any test results, so I'm of no help there, but I did see the M390 PM2 test that came back at 62 hrc. Spyderco seems to be one of the best, outside custom makers, when it comes to M390, 20CV, and 204P.
