Loving this knife
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Brous Bionic Xl. Got this guy real cheap a while back. Was able to apply 2 coupon codes and redeem points on a sale or clearance price.
Really like it overall but it needed some refinement. I reduced the size of the flipper tab and turned the sharpening choil into a finger choil, (it didn’t extend far enough to clear the plunge anyway).
More importantly the clip on this guy and my smaller Bionic2 have the same problem, when you swap them to left carry they don’t fit quite right and are prone to moving around. This is an issue I have with many other knives and clips but in this case it chews up the aluminum. I put up with it for a while but ended up catching it on something rendering it unusable. I did contact Brous hoping for a better solution but the best they could offer was replacing the scale and clip. Unfortunately I knew the same thing would likely happen again so I opted to fix it myself. It’s not as pretty but I think it turned out o.k. And it’s sturdy as **** now. If the clip looks familiar, it came of a Byrd. I tweaked the shape to match the Brous a little better.
This is one of only a few knives I’ve come across that actually comfortably accommodates my thumb. The handle is very comfortable but a little slippery when wet. Action is superb. The D2 blade is is evenly ground and thin behind the edge. It must have a great heat treat as it holds a great edge and not at all chippy.
This is the third Brous in my collection, all three went through a short lived lock rock phase. After a few days of aggressive flipping and normal use it went away.

If you're wielding the sharpest tool in the shed, who's going to say that you aren't...?
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
After just focusing on Spyderco the first 18 months or so of getting interested in pocket knives, I’ve found myself venturing out to try a few other offerings. A mix of TRM, GiantMouse, ZT and Benchmade. So far very happy with the choices thus far!

Nice! I keep meaning to get a small Sebenza with Insingo to match my large. Other knives Keep getting placed ahead of it but it is coming.

Hey knives, I dug it up last night rummaging around looking for something else. I’ve had it for ages and I like it but I haven’t used it in quite a while (I kind of forgot I had it ) the first thing I noticed was it’s not overly comfortable disengaging the lock. :)knivesandbooks wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 5:37 pmNice! Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Thanks Barry, it is a bit different than what we usually see here. It's my only non Spyderco knife, besides my SAK. Something about it just really appealed to me.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I’m wondering where you are all getting that cool little clip... who what where and how much?
40 Spyderco knives in 11 different steels,
1 Byrd and 30 “others”

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Can't disagree with that! I've been carrying mine everyday since getting it, really is very useful and functional...I try not to use the blades though, otherwise I really feel like I'm cheating whatever Spyderco I have in my other pocket haha.
