SAKs were my first collection passion Connor.
They're rock solid knives. I have a Hiker like the one you have pictured, and that saw is hard to beat. I carried the Huntsman exclusively for 32 years and never wanted for anything.

Victorinox Hiker.

I've been strangely intrigued by Victorinox's SAKs lately. My first "real" knife was the tiny Classic, given to me at about the age of 7 or so, but I have not owned or carried one since those days.

They're well-built, classic, and inexpensive. I'm kind of surprised how much I'm looking forward to handling, and using it once it arrives. Bit of a nice change from $150+ knives.

They're such great knives. I just recently got my first Alox (gold Pioneer) and as good as the classic, red-handled SAKs are, the Alox versions are truly a step above. Mine is super solid, everything opens butter smooth and snaps open and shut. It only cost $50+ but it rivals some of my Spyderco knives in fit and finish. It's one of my favorite knives and I carry it daily (along with a Spyderco of some sort.)

There's a reason Victorinox SAKs have been around for a hundred years. ;)

Ordered one of the new Tops Bull Trout knives. Really like the shape and the burlap micarta handles and I'm glad they went with 154cm and a leather sheath for this. None of my preferred sellers have them yet and I'm guessing Tops hasn't finished them, so Tops said 10-14 days, but I'm not rushing. Price on there didn't seem much over what dealers will charge and has free priority shipping.

Plus, they come in so many different configurations that they're practically custom built to your specifications. ;)
