My niece and her boyfriend were at the game.
I told her she couldn't have picked a better one to see.
All those Home Runs and runs scored.
They had awesome seats too. Just right behind 1st base.
The wife and I are gonna try and go to Sun Trust Stadium in Spetember. It's just so **** hot in Atlanta the months of July and August.
Plus, September is the home stretch/end of the regular season.
Actually, the Nats took 2nd place from the Phills last night, after the loss to the Braves.
But, man oh man, that NL Central is anyone's Division to win.

My son and I were trying to get to either a Pirates game or one of the Farm Club's but didn't make it. Our weather hasn't been baseball friendly!

I wish the Brewers could just play the Pirates all season long. Really have their number this year! 9-2 record vs them in the season series thus far.

Its possible. It really is.
But, right now, I see the Yankees vs Dodgers in the Series.
I feel Atlanta might make it to the NL Championship.

Braves are doing everything right at the moment and I think the Indians will be sellers. My opinion of course but the tribe has had so many injuries to their top guys and a couple all-stars laying eggs. I don't see them getting past the twins. Having the two wildcards now may be their only hope.

Never fear if Atlanta holds true to its form it will get everyone excited and then at the very last fall apart. However I would love to see Atlanta back in contention in the World Series. My ultimate game would be the Yankees and the Braves. AsLong as anyone beats the Mets I’m OK ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Way Braves are going now I could see them making the NL Championship, not sure much farther - i'd love to be wrong though. It's all dependent on their bats staying hot and not getting into situations relying on relief pitching. They have been exciting to watch as they hit themselves out from behind a loss. But their closers are still struggling in the late game. They get some consistant relef pitching with the bats they have now and they will truly be a force.

Braves are really creeping up as contenders in the NL. It's hands down them or the Dodgers. At this point, I'd say they are 1a and 1b.

Love those 4th of July stars and stripes ballcaps all weekend. Only saw a few of them, but the Texas T was especially well done.

Homerun Derby tonight! Who do you think will win? Joc came close to winning a few years ago and has derby experience and Santana will be the hometown (Cleveland) favorite....I'll stick with a Dodger and go with Joc with a close 2nd Alonso.

1 Matt Chapman 2 Pete Alonso
8 Vlad Guerrero Jr. 7 Carlos Santana
4 Alex Bregman 3 Josh Bell
5 Joc Pederson 6 Ronald Acuna Jr

my favorite baseball movie scene...

I should have been a farmer...Since the day I was born, I should have been a farmer. I love chickens and pigs and ducks. I'm kind of fond of nanny goats I am. Oh come on, Fowler. Throw strikes.

Fowler's killing worms Pop.

Hey Fowler. Don't you know how I hate losing to the Pirates? You know Red my ma urged me to get out of this game when I was a kid, she pleaded with me. And I meant to you know what I mean? But she died.

Tough.

Now look at me. I'm wet nurse to a last place dead to the neck up ball club and I'm choking to death. Wouldn't you think that I could get a fresh drink of water after all the years I spent in this game? Red did you talk to that bastard partner of mine about the drinking fountain?

Well the Judge said he's working on it Pop.

Working on it? Son of a *****. You know the day that snake walked into this ballpark was one of the darkest days of my life Red.

Well after last night I really have to wander about MLB.
Especially considering what Jason Verlander said.
Not to mention all the Homer's Atlanta hit in the month of July.
I've yet to see a more natural talent that Josh Hamilton.
And, what he did on the home run derby of 08 was truly incredible.
Then all the sudden Vlad Guerrero Jr destroys it?
And this when the guys of steroid generation couldn't even come close to matching Hamiltons 28 home runs in the 1st round?
Okay MLB........Okay......

All about those ratings and filling the seats...who cares about the integrity of the game, the juiced up stats with long standing records of men who played the game the right way being crushed at record paces

Okay MLB........Okay......
In my opinion, based solely on my observations, the "steroid era" fellas saved baseball. After the strike in 81' and 1994 baseball reached rock bottom, at least from the fans point of view, then "something" happened. Suddenly you have multiple players reaching 40 homers, Dale Murphy led the league two years in a row with 36,37 hrs in 84'-85' and only a handful of players were close to that.

Jump to the 90's and homers go through the roof! 50,60,70 homers and the commentary was that "players now use weights an and conditioning is better" and boom MLB is relevant again and chicks dig the longball! Then when flags were being raised the "blame" went to steroids and a few bad apples; McGuire, Canseco, Bonds, etc. Did the bad apples infect the 30 something players who now were 30+ homer sluggers, maybe the others got "contact highs" from the bad apples.

So now the bad apples are fall guys and they "took one for the league". Sure no hall of fame for these guys but MLB's profits have stabilized and now that the bad apples are out and the homeruns have receded back to a normal curve....but MLB remembers that "peak" and all the attention and money flowing in from the longball so the numbers start to increase again, but now the catchphrase is "launch angle" and "exit velo"

Verlander is in my opinion correct and just like the scandal in Japan the balls are whats really juiced. I love baseball but the mantra "too big to fail" is bologna. Who will be the fall guys this time? Ball manufacturers? Bats? 5 minute energy drinks?

I love the game and I'm a little bit of a conspiracy nut :D and I'll still watch...
