Got her a couple weeks ago. Never owned a Spyderco before, but the ball bearing lock intrigued me, so I bagged this one. The thinness and lightness immediately caught my attention. The pattern on the FRCP keeps the knife secrure, without being grating. The fit in my hand, especially when choking up into the finger choil, is excellent. Not a fan of the spring strength on the lock. This has been my favorite knife to carry since I got it.

The only one I've got proper pictures of, is a Manix 2 XL with custom scales:

But here's the gang all together:
(Excuse the poor quality and lighting :p )

My current stable. Also have the LW DLC/BD1 model but lent that to my brother in law to use at his camp for a couple weeks. Tough choice deciding which of these to carry when it feels like a Manix day.

The Manix family is my first Spyderco love, and the only one in which I have a duplicate. I keep my first M4 Manix2 exclusive in my truck.

Whoa! Talk to me about the scales on the Backlock? I thought they only made black? Aftermarket, weird color balance, or my old eyes?

Very nice !

BTW, this week I swapped out the cages on my two XHP Manixes, with Ti ones. While I was at it, I also put in ceramic bearings. Definitely improved the handling for me .... the original white cage always felt "softer" than the black cages to me, slowing down opening and closing; subtle but noticeable - the metal cages fixed that.

The backlock (C95) came with foliage green scales and was one of 600 sprinted in 2008. I was lucky to find it NIB on eBay a few years ago.

Nice. Thanks. Oh, it's a C95. I didn't see the liners and mistakenly thought it was a C101. Totally makes sense now.

Hey Roland, when swapping your scales...is it easier to do so with the knife open or closed, or doesn't it really matter? Patiently awaiting my scales I ordered off Ebay 2 weeks ago
