How about the opposite also, a HD para 2 (heavy Duty), Same size overall, thicker G-10 like the Manix backlock, maybe thicker steel on the compression lock, same blade stock but less of a taper with a thicker stronger tip.

From over on BF regarding the FRN PM2 LW....

Thanks to Eric and Sal and the rest of the crew for the Para 3 LW. This thing is like a Delica on steroids, its just great. One day if the PM2 gets the LW treatment... I can imagine those contours on the FRN would feel exactly perfect.

Wow, reading through this thread is amazing how much Eric and Sal either listened to the customers, or how much their plans/designs coincidentally fell in sync with them. Really neat. I will buy nearly all the PM2 lw models if and when they come to life. If I could throw out a suggestion for them, and maybe the PM2 model in general... Thinner blade stock. That's just one man's opinion though.

I would be more interested if it had thinner blade stock-- 3.0mm or even 2.5mm.

I think this would be great as well, but would negate a blade swap.

Thinner blade stock is harder with a compression lock due to the lateral ramp needed on the blade’s lock interface. I’d be all for a FRN model with wire clip.

As much as I love my new P3LW, I prefer the size of the PM2 for its utility. I would be all over a PM2LW.

PM2 Salt in LC200N please! Well, right after you start selling the g10 version in LC200N 🤜.

Either one of these would be great.

Linerless PM2 Salt in LC200N with a wire clip would be so very awesome.

Sage 5, kapara? Both compression locks with thinner blade stock

True, thank you. Those both use 3.0 mm stock vs the 3.7 mm of the PM2. It can be done.

Just cause I answered a related question in another thread: Does anyone really doubt that there WILL be a PM2 lightweight and probably pretty soon?!
Below I pasted what I wrote in that other thread, I would be very surprised if I was wrong on that one - what do you think?

"Lightweight PM2: I think if Spyderco would NOT make that model eventually or even quite soon, that would be one of their worst business related decisions ever... ;)
I mean, now that they obviously have managed to perfectly implement the comp. lock in a (almost) linerless FRN model (with the Para 3, Sage lw...) and took all the time and effort for development, and only would have to transfer that design in one of their most successfull models (PM2) it would be CRAZY not to do so,right?! I think a lightweight PM 2 will be a big seller. Many lightweight fans would buy one, but also most of the PM2 collectors I guess, even if not being much into FRN generally...

Thanks! Didn't know that, but really, it doesn't surprise me at all.

I'm pretty sure it's linked somewhere in the casual bombshell thread. Probably several pages back by now though. I also remember it being mentioned after the Amsterdam meet a couple years ago.

What does everything think about having a PM2LW in a tanto grind? Sounds LEGIT to me! Combining the demand for 2 different requests our community is asking for!
