Uploading a photo to the forum
Uploading a photo to the forum
Hello. I can't seem to upload a photo to the forum, it keeps saying that the image is too big. I searched the forum but didnt find anything other than using a PC or paying for some special app. Does anyone have an easy way they do it from their phone?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

www.imgur.com/upload
click browse
select your photo
let it upload
after it finishes uploading, tap and hold on your image, and select "copy link address" or similar
https://i.imgur.com/tWDewzp.jpg
your link will look like that. From there just place it in image brackets
click browse

Ok, I'm following so far with the imgur. And I have a link. (https://i.imgur.com/9gy0eah.jpg)
I've tried using html image brackets, no success. So I'm forced to ask what are these image brackets your referring to. Thanks

I use the website and pull up the bbcode link then just copy and past.
Here's a Screenshot of what it looks like

Re: Uploading a photo to the forum
You just paste the bbcode link and it does it itself.

It had the IMG brackets in the link itself. I put spaces in the link so it wouldn't load the image

Apparently I stll don't know how. Not tech savy.
Re: Uploading a photo to the forum
Just use the drop down menu to change the link type to "BBCode". Copy and paste that directly into your post. No need to add IMG tags.

Re: Uploading a photo to the forum
You tried to use the link to the upload page rather than the link to the image itself.
If I want to show you the Spyderco logo, I can't simply link www.spyderco.com. I have to link the image, which is https://www.spyderco.com/wp-content/uploads/logo.png.
Or, with image tags:
On a phone simply tap and hold on the image and you can copy the URL to it.
see how the link you need to copy and paste ends in .jpg?
BTW the dye job on your knife is awesome looking!

You're right. I was using Chrome on my Android tablet. I have Firefox and some others but rarely use them. I know iPhone is quite different. I'm also pretty sure on any browser on a PC when you click on an image it opens and the links are all right next to the pic. Even more convenient.Vivi wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 9:02 pmNot all browsers support that drop down menu, but if yours does it's a convenient option.

Thanks for the advice Vivi, I'll have to play with the process some more. I appreciate the compliment on the dye job. I originally only dyed the clip end of the knife to mute the attention drawing portion sticking out when clipped to my pocket. But I also wanted to keep the high visibility as intended by the design of the salt series. Felt like the knife was unproportional so dyed blade end red. Has sort of a "Caribbean" flare now to match it's namesake.

Normally I don't care for bright handle colors, but I like the rainbow effect you achieved. I've seen a Dragonfly Salt with a similar dye job posted here. Might have to make myself one someday!SaltSerious wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 6:38 amThanks for the advice Vivi, I'll have to play with the process some more. I appreciate the compliment on the dye job. That's the best I could do with a quick search.
